Lacey let out a breath she'd been holding, good, no permenant damage to their friendship. "Something happened yesterday. Someone thought they could use me to get money out of my Dad. I'm ok," she said quickly, "Dad isn't a pushover, and they got what they deserved, but during it all, no one thought I was with Ian. I never stopped to think about what Ian must have been thinking, if he were worried about me." She shrugged. "But I made sure to worry about the people I work with, my best friend." Worry about what she should get them from Disney World, but Betty thought she was the Trust fund baby. "I don't think you're a coward for leaving that behind. Obviously," she said, gesturing to what she was doing. "Oh, I'll still be around. I'm not quitting school, just moving back home. Hopefully we can still hang out, yeah?" She chuckled. "Yeah, I didn't really stay here much, did I?"
