He wasn't saying a relationship couldn't happen. "No," he said quietly. Whatever she meant because they did obviously have something more than a yes or no question. "No, I can't tell you that because I want you. I want this. Whatever it is. I want you and me. Together. As corny as that sounds." His mouth quested toward her, finding her cheek and straying toward her jaw.
Kai relaxed again, shifting closer. She tilted her chin to give him better access. “It's what I want too,” she said. The butterflies in her stomach were sure about that. So was that flutter in her heart, the silly little ecstatic feeling underlying everything. “And it doesn't sound corny. It sounds...right.” She told him, then smirked at herself. “Which sounds corny.”
Ronin felt her shifting closer in the dark and he welcomed it. He kissed her jaw softly toward her ear where he paused to whisper, " You're amazing." Which was true and then he kissed her cheek inward toward her mouth. "You don't sound corny. You sound amazing." You sound like love. I love you.
She couldn't help but feel like a princess when he said that to her. Funny how something coming from the right person could have that strong an effect. He could do that though. She was already wrapped up in him, but now? Even more so. Feeling swept up with it all, she reached up to turn his lips toward hers so she could steal a kiss, making it a deep one.
He let her have that kiss. He wanted her to have it. All of his kisses were hers. This one though was completely them. Devotion, insanity, color, beauty, intensity, life. He shook slightly and reached for her.
She got closer when he reached for her, letting herself get swept up in him. It was easy when she felt like her dreams were coming true. Even if she hadn't known those were her dreams in the first place. Or, she kept denying to herself that they were. Obviously her heart was in an entirely different place than her head, and she was really glad that her heart was winning out. She was really glad Ronin had taken the chance.
He pulled back to breathe. He had never expected this with Kai. He wasn't going to ask again if she was sure though. He was sure that he wanted so much more with her but it wasn't right to push so much. Right? Would he lose her in the morning though? Would she have had enough time to choose something else? He decided he was willing to know. For her.
Kai smiled, nuzzling her nose against his for a moment. “I love you,” she told him, before she could think better of it. It wasn't the first time she would have told him, of course. It just meant more tonight than it ever had previously.
Ronin stopped. There was nothing to think on anymore. And apparently Kai knew it. And then some. Had she really just said the three words? Was this their relationship. Were they okay? "Kai. Kai," he started, sort of romanticizing her name. "What do I say?" He couldn't think of a thing but he could press his lips to hers, give her something raw and completely him.
