Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Happy holidays everyone! I'm Kate, the newest player (I think!) to this intriguing game. I'm taking on two characters. Mary Nott, vaguely dissatisfied sister to Jacob Selwyn and wife to Edward Nott. And John Dawlish who is, well, rather insufferable. He's an auror, loyal to the Ministry to the point of madness, and tends to be something of a killjoy. Mary is far more fun--even for a smug pureblood--and tends to over-involve herself in every possible group and activity to make up for her current lack of direction.

Plot bunnies would be great and I'd love to discuss possible back stories and character relationships. Can't wait to play with you all!

Hurrah!

Edward and Jake, obviously, are very interested in Mary. Edward thinks she is a perfectly adequate wife and that's about as close to love as the boy gets. At least at this point. We can thread to see how well they get along, maybe he can even muster up some affectionate tolerance. Mostly all he's concerned about is producing an heir, having a good hostess/escort for public functions, and that she not annoy him too much.

Jake, on the other hand, loves his big sister (most of the time) and really hates having to lie to her about what he's doing. When he starts telling people the truth, he'll probably tell her first, but everything such a delicate mess right now that he's avoiding it.

Bill thinks Dawlish has basically the right idea (defeat of the DEs should come from the Ministry, the Order is a bunch of [well-meaning] criminals, and change should come from within) but the man is such a stuffed shirt that it doesn't matter, Bill dislikes him anyway. Good times. ♥

Edward might know Dawlish if he's enough of a schemer. Edward likes to have his finger in every political pie, so he's pretty perfectly placed to hand out favors, and plenty of people are interested in staying on his good side.

Lesse... Kirley, if he ever ran into either, would try very hard to get Dawlish drunk and would probably hit on Mary, but I don't foresee any of them crossing paths except by accident. And Lily just flat out wouldn't get along with either. Unless any of Mary's 'groups and activities' involves any philanthropic work, which Lily would probably interested in. She's a bit over-active in the do-gooder department.

Such a great (and diverse!) list of characters!

I'd love to play out scenes with both Edward and Jake. Messed up family dynamics are SUCH fun to play, possibly my favorite type of plot. I do think Mary will be involved in a few charitable organizations, so maybe she and Lily will meet up at some point. Kirley sounds like the sort I would get along with famously, but I agree I can't seem him naturally crossing paths with either of them.

Bill/Dawlish mutual antagonism sounds like great fun! I like that it will be due to their personalities clashing, since ideology wise they do seem to roughly match up. I sense many disapproving glances and exasperated sighs in Bill's future...

Sure sure sure. Edward/Mary might be easier at the moment since Jake isn't willing to venture too far outside of the safe house.

I'd love to do Edward/Mary. I'm happy to do first post honors, if you have the time this week. I know it's hectic for some!

I've got time. Except for Christmas day proper, we're just hanging out at home. And hell, I'll probably online on Christmas day, too, knowing my family. Fun people, but you really have to take them just a few hours at a time...

Ha, same here. The internet provides a healthy break from full-on family time. Whew.

And great-- I'll probably post something today after I'm back from yet another function! If you have any burning ideas for setting, etc. let me know!

Well, Edward has his holiday gift for her already bought. And if we'd like some tension, he could be going out of town for the holidays. ^_~

Ooo, perfect! I feel like since (I assume) this is the first Christmas for her sans Jake she would be particularly annoyed. Fun times!

It's posted! I'm enjoying checking up on this game between family duties! I just wish we had house elves around here to do our bidding.
