Nuclear warheads had devastating effects on the world, pollution sky rocketed, cities crumbled and there were mass shortages of even the most bare essentials throughout every country. The children of the Atom have risen up under President Shaw, who leads the country from his seat in Washington, D.C. and the mutants are the dominant species now, out numbering humans five to one. While camps have sprung up in the most major cities, with Shaw rounding humans up and using them for labor to rebuild the cities and civilization as second-class citizens, he has recruited mutants to his side with the promise of acceptance in a new world. A group called the Xmen were formed to fight Shaw and are the only one's who have a chance to stand up to Shaw and to protect humans and mutants alike. Which side will you choose? Atom is set in 1964, in a post apocalypse setting following real time.
