day four!

Day four! Keep it up you guys! Weekends are hard on me too because I work, so I'll have some work to do to get to today's word goal of 4044!

I know I posted a musical prompt yesterday, but TODAY'S ALMOST OVER and I'm flustered trying to find something inspirational that isn't music. Also I'm a sleepy-head, so this song fits. I hope the music makes you feel something. I know this makes me giddy and makes me feel young, so maybe you can write something young and fresh!

day three!

Hey everyone! It's day three, and your word count should now be 3033. I love that you're all posting so much. Don't stop now, you're doing great!

Your prompt today is a beautiful song by the Fleet Foxes called White Winter Hymnal. I think of it as sort of a new Christmas song, but there isn't really anything Christmassy about it. However, I am SO DAMN COLD TODAY so I thought of it! It's a beautiful piece of music and I hope it inspires you in some way.

day two!

It's day two here on 40forty, and I'm so happy to see that so many of you wrote yesterday! Your word goal for today is 2022 words.

To help get you there, here's a beautiful piece of photography by Greg Kade, featuring Abbey Lee Kershaw. Hopefully it will inspire you in some way or another.

Here is the first of the daily prompts! Don't feel pressured to use it, it's just a suggestion in case you're having trouble getting started.

Two characters have not seen each other for ten years. A lot has changed in their lives, and neither is the same person that the other knew.

Include the words: stick, butter, stairwell.

Also, let me know how you would like to get prompts. Does a scenario like the one above suit you, or would you prefer just a jumble of words that might spark something? Would you prefer if I set up a prompt table? Let me know!
