Wes & Kenzie, before the reading
Making the decision to go into acting had been something of a whim, if Wes were being completely honest. He wasn't bored with making music, by any means, but he had felt in something of a rut for his solo music this year. Perhaps it was because he'd been collaborating more these days, but he'd been positively itching for something new and different. He'd mentioned it to his manager, who had then looked into the possibilities of ventures he could pursue, and she'd come back to him with the new show WeeVee was planning. He'd arranged a meeting with the writer and the EP, given an informal audition, and been cast even before open casting had been scheduled.
The hardest part these past few months had been not talking about it, though he'd hinted at a new project. Everyone, of course, had assumed it had to do with his new album, and he'd let them. But now he'd been officially announced as part of the cast of By the Grace of St. Mungo, and what fun he planned to have with this project.
He'd arrived about fifteen minutes early, taking some of that time to chat quietly with Robert Hilliard, his castmate and EP, though he was quite distracted when he saw the queen with wild curls enter the room, looking star-struck and just a bit out of place, as though she couldn't quite believe she'd got the part. And from the afternoon he'd spent with her, that didn't surprise him.
Excusing himself from his conversation with Robert, Wes crossed to Kenzie, one hand lifting presumptuously to wrap a strand of curls around his finger and give a little tug. "Fancy seeing you here," he teased, dark eyes gleaming in the shared knowledge of their activities.
