Re: Tina, Miguel, Zahara, & Hyperion - 10:15PM
"Perhaps, my love, but that's the most exhausting part of parenting, isn't it? We've just got to stand by and let them make their own mistakes. And sometimes those mistakes surprise us into not being mistakes at all," Hyperion said sagely, shifting Zahara in his arms so he could envelope her in a hug. "I caught Kenzie smoking some horribly skunky weed a little bit ago," he admitted, hoping to give his fiancé the momentary distraction to compartmentalize her anger and fear.
Miguel nodded and apparated them away, not bothering to wait for her mother's reaction. He didn't take her to her flat, though. No, he brought her to his, apparating them to his living room. "Wait right here," he said, leaning in to brush his lips over hers briefly before he darted into his bedroom closet. He pulled a box down from a high shelf, then got a smaller blue velvet box from it. After slipping the bigger box back up on the shelf, he went back out to the living room.
"I know it seemed to come from nowhere, but you are the love of my life, Celestina," he started when he reached her again. "I bought this ring for you a long time ago, and I kept it even after everything happened because I always hoped we would find our way back to each other. I want nothing more than to spend my life with you, to grow old with you, to build a family and home with you." Miguel dropped to one knee and opened the ring box. "I know I already asked but... Will you marry me?"
