Sky had spent the morning in editorial meetings at the Prophet, getting organized for the Friday edition. Her Advice Column "Ask Aurora" was always published on Fridays, and today she'd met with fellow "Friday" staff on the progress of the edition and with her copy editor on her latest piece. After that, she'd decided to take some work down to The Leaky for a lunch away from the office. It wasn't raining in Diagon Alley for once, and she'd set herself at an outside table with a warming charm. She had some letters she hadn't gone through yet and she figured it was a good time to go through them to pick which she'd answer for next week's column. She ordered stew and a butterbeer from Hannah and buttered bread for herself before she started picking through the letters.
She'd been getting a lot lately from children, at that just didn't excite her. Oh! This one had some potential. "My (30/M) girlfriend (28/F) of six years broke up with me because I was her first and she want's to explore her options. Can you have a successful lifelong partnership with someone who is your first lover?" Yes, that was a definite yes for the column. She could do a lot with the philosophical debate on that one. Skye particularly liked questions that had larger implications than "dump him already". Of course, she didn't let it bother her that she had very little actual relationship experience from which to draw. She'd been writing advice for nearly three years now and she'd hardly had any push back on her lack of experience or age. When she'd first been announced the publisher had gotten some grumbling, from what she'd heard, but Skye had been protected from the worst of it and she'd been reassured that her age was part of the reason she'd been given the opportunity. The Prophet had wanted to go in that direction, and it seemed to have worked.
Setting the first letter in a pile for "Yes's", she picked up the next. "Should I (24f) still be at work despite being sick with a cold?" Ugh. Goodness. No. She started a pile for "No's" just as her lunch was brought out to the table.
