Orchestra/Dancing: Katarina & Open
Even though Katarina wasn't hugely interested in any of the authors present she was very interested in the historical dress and dancing aspects of the evening. Plus the charity itself was important of course.
She had decided the traditional white and cream most people were familiar with wasn't the regency colour for her, but she had found a reproduction in red velvet that she liked and paired it with appropriate white accessories. The flat slippers were uncomfortable because of her flat feet, but she had taken the chance at the dancing lessons and would be making use of them.
She stood at the side of the dancefloor, patting nervously at her ridiculous, but relatively period-accurate, hair. She was being strangely indecisive and couldn't decide if she wanted to approach someone or wait to be approached. She had practised dancing with people of different genders in both leading and following positions, and now she couldn't decide which she wanted to do. She had eyed up several beautiful women, but not quite made herself make the first move. Then she couldn't quite bring herself to catch the eye of the man or two who she recognised from the classes she'd attended. It was so unnatural to her to made any type of advances on a man.
She held up a gloved hand and adjusted the fingers slightly, the unused dance card she had made for herself dangling from the wrist.
