Re: Welcome: Sofía and Scarlett
The theme of the night didn't particularly appeal to Scarlett, but she'd had so much fun at last year's gala--the sense of nostalgia about meeting Beau and charming him to bed for the first time was stronger than she'd expected--that she couldn't resist attending again this year. It had taken her longer than expected to choose the right dress, and the one she chose was far more conservative than anything she would typically wear, but she felt like a princess in it and loved the way the different shades of blue made her eyes stand out even more.
Going casual with her hair and subtle with her makeup, Scar was sure that her dress would be the focal point she wanted it to be. It had taken several fittings to get the dress right, considering how petite she was, and though she felt a little bit swamped in it, she loved how powerful it made her feel, as if she were some princess married off to the crown prince of another nation only to kill him and take the throne for herself. She had a feeling Penny would approve of the imagination.
It was early in the evening, Mrs. Nott having just finished giving the welcoming speech though still a little bit of time before the meal would start being served, and she wandered around for a few minutes before spotting Sofia. Detouring toward her friend, she greeted her with a smile. "Look at you, radiating like sunshine in that dress," she complimented Sofia, the words only having a hint of shallowness. Sofia was beautiful, of course, but the dress was a little underwhelming in her opinion. Though perhaps that was because she felt so damn regal, herself.
