That Gala was to be the first time that Penny would have her girlfriend and her Phoenix in the same room since they had started dating. There were worries over how it’d go, but Penny wasn’t letting it show. Her dress had been chosen very carefully, paired with a beautiful black crown that was woven into her dark curls. She thought she had rather hit her mark, she looked rather dangerous, and regal.
They had yet to run into Phoenix since arriving, but the night was still young. The band had just started up, and that song. Gods, she loved that song! It was one of her favorites, and it so fantastic to hear the band playing it classical. “We should dance,” she said as she leaned close to Hailey. Those dark orbs met the other’s gaze, her smile genuine. Her stomach may have been in knots over how very official this all felt, but looking into Hailey’s eyes made it all disappear. Hailey was why she was doing this, she loved her girlfriend.
“I’ll even let you lead,” was said teasingly, though as her eyes slid over Hailey’s outfit again, they were hungry. Hailey looked so damn good, Penny couldn’t wait to get her out of those clothes later. They were going to look even better on the bedroom floor.
