Dagny Pucey-Connelly ([info]dagnypucey) wrote in [info]20somethings,
Book signing: Dagny and OPEN
For Dagny, there was no question that her attire for the gala would be something fitting for the theme. Since the lords and ladies ball was Pansy’s brainchild, there was a bit of gentle pressure for the family to look good. Dagny didn’t mind in the slightest, rather enjoying the opportunity to pull out all the stops for the gala. Bennie had helped her decide on the dress she would wear, and Dagny didn’t feel like she was playing dress-up or like her outfit was too close to something bridal as some of the plainer, cream-coloured gowns she had tried on were.

Addison was, as always, great company but Dagny could tell she was dying to go and put her camera to good use. Dagny encouraged her to go and put her talents to good use, contemplating joining one of the queues for a book signing; she generally preferred true crime to crime fiction, but she’d read and enjoyed Cade Dupree’s Rowland Hazard series. She’d even re-read the first novel recently after rumours had started popping up that WeeVee had purchased the rights for an adaptation.

She paused to check her phone when it chirped from inside the small reticule she had brought for the evening. The bag was, of course, charmed to hold far more than the eye could see, for Dagny was not really one to travel lightly - if someone ever needed anything, there was a chance she’d have it in her purse. There was a message from her dad; Dagny had sent her parents a picture of herself and Thad in their outfits for the gala and he’d texted back wishing them a good night out. The message made her smile and she sent back a quick heart emoji as she joined the end of the line before slipping the phone back into her bag.
