Okay, well now she felt like the biggest idiot, and her tanned skin darkened with a flush as she glanced away from Trina. "Oh. Right." Tears welled up in her own eyes, and she blinked them back with an urgency. "No, that's okay. I'll just... go." If she was going to cry into a bucket of ice cream, she rather thought it should be hers and not Trina's.
After a quick check to make sure she had everything, she looked at Trina, her lips parting as if to speak, but words failed her. She pressed her lips together, giving the other woman a small, sad nod, and then apparated home. Her stomach was in knots, and rather than go to her freezer to see what sweets she had, she curled up on her bed for a good cry. It felt selfish to need it, which only made the tears flow more fiercely. But it was good, healthy even, to mourn an ending, even if you were the one to instigate it.
