Mia couldn't argue with that. Trina had the most beautiful smile, the sort that could light up a room, but she was glad she hadn't seen her smile for dealing with obnoxious customers. "I've heard of places where being rude to the customers is their schtick," she commented conversationally. It was tangentially related to the topic, so she didn't think Trina would be annoyed.
Quiet moments were rare for Mia. She'd been born into a big, loud, passionate family, and she'd never shied away from any of it. She almost always had music playing and could hardly resist talking with whomever was nearby. And yet, she was utterly content in that moment of quiet while Trina's fingers combed through her hair, her head tilting into the motion like a cat chasing pets.
She hummed at the question, a warm smile slowly stretching over her lips. "I got to take Mari for a couple hours on Thursday. She's not quite crawling yet, but she's getting so interactive! I love that baby so much," she sighed happily. "Do you like kids?" she asked, not quite smoothly shifting to the more serious topic of what they might want for their futures and if those wants aligned.
