Not always the best at telling stories Katarina was glad she'd made Mia laugh. "You know I'm a pretty smiley person, but even I have one for when customers are being particularly impossible," she said. "Believe me the customer is not always right. It's not so bad now we own the shop, but you could get a bad reputation at markets if you were too mean or grumpy." She shook her head slightly and put her drink down for now. "Didn't mean to rant, just been a few more unfortunate customers than average this week."
She absolutely did not hold back the grin that appeared when Mia curled up into her space, something happy bubbling into her chest. Slowly and gently she started to play with Mia's hair. Switching between twining strands around her fingers and combing through it. It was slightly clumsy from time to time but probably impossible to notice from the other side. She scuffed her feet which were shod in comfortably fuzzy slippers that had excellent grips on the bottom, but little dangling owl charms hanging from the decorative bow.
She had set music playing earlier at a level where she could hear the beat but not so loud it would interrupt their conversation. But right now she was trying to work out if she was comfortable in the quiet moments with Mia or not. She thought so, but she was also a very chatty person so it often felt a little bit off when nobody had said anything in a while. "What was your happiest thing this week?" she asked after a little while.
