Shooting for Grace meant that every now and then, Kenzie found herself wide awake early in the morning. There was only one person that Kenzie knew would be up this early, tinkering with plants, learning fantastic things for his big fancy project that would win him thousands of awards, the same person that had the best curls for her to slip her slender little fingers around. Jasper. It was just her luck that he worked with Scarlett’s grandfather, someone who knew Kenzie well enough that she’d be able to slip in, and maybe if she played her cards right, talk Jasper into blowing off work extremely early.
The leggy brunette showed up just after 10am, wearing her favorite ripped jeans and sweatshirt to keep out the cold. Her wild curls had been tamed for filming, falling in thick curls down her back. She even still had the make-up on, mostly nude, but it helped to accentuate her features, something she rarely did on her own. Her lips appeared fuller, eyes just a bit more drowning deep brown than usual. When she caught a glimpse of her reflection in a window, she could see why she’d been cast for the part of Emma Stevens.
The sound of men talking perked her up, distracting her from her consuming thoughts. Hands stuffed into her jean pockets, so as not to touch anything she shouldn’t. She’d learned a lesson at Penny’s shop, one she had known since being small and playing with Jasper in his family’s greenhouse. Don’t touch anything when something might kill you if you touch it by accident.
“Hey! Sorry to interrupt, I was in the neighborhood,” she lied to the two, giving Scar’s grandfather a smile, one that grew as her gaze met Jasper’s. Just seeing those curls, bright eyes, and that smile? Yeah, this was exactly where she needed to be. She didn’t need to be taking rainbow and letting the days melt together. She needed to be right where she was, mostly sober, and feeling more herself than she had in days. Maybe once they smoked the joint in her pocket, she'd be able to talk him into leaving.
