RP: I wanna be your Friday night sweet ride

Eliza had gone simply with some sparkle for her Friday night - the first of two for the weekend, surely - at Carnival. She had counted down the minutes until Cogg & Bell Clockmakers had closed at half six and then gone home to make dinner and get ready for the night out. She wore her bright red hair down in natural waves, and a nude lip.

When she arrived at Carnival Club at half nine, the place was still a little on the slow side, but she liked that. She liked having a better pick of the tables and to be able to get her first few drinks without waiting in the lines that would take over the multiple bars by 11. She smiled as she chose her spot and listened to the DJ ramping up the music as the crowd grew. This was her favorite way to spend a weekend night, especially knowing she had a bedside table full of hangover remedy potions waiting for her and that her cousin Etta and friend Amara would both definitely be joining her tonight.

He grinned at her, "Never," and then winked. He adored Sofia's more sensible side, but something about her presence short-circuited his brain in a lot of ways.

He laughed, saying to her and a little but to Thomas, too, "She knows me all too well," he gave Tommy an indulgent smile. "Brooding is definitely my agenda tonight, I don't dance, and trust me you don't want to see me try. I'm sure Tommy has stories that would horrify you and you would never find me sexy again, I swear."

He looked out to the dance floor from where they all stood not too far from a bar, "But if you want to dance, please feel free, and know that the entire time you do, I will be very much enjoying the show," he smirked. He loved showing her off now that they could be 'public' and the idea of any - every - man in the room seeing how electric and sensual she was if she was dancing made him hungry. He was pretty sure she could see such a feeling in his eyes, even if he kept his tone light.

"Okay, but now I want to hear those stories," Sofía said, looking between Bash and Thomas. "I want to hear all the horrifying stories. The more embarrassing the better." She didn't know Thomas much yet, but he was Bash's best friend, so she hoped that she would eventually. Just like eventually she'd introduce Bash to Hugo and hope there weren't fireworks.

The look in Bash's eyes warmed her, pushing aside any lingering thoughts she might have had about being curled up at home with a good book. "Maybe I will in a bit." If Lily wanted to dance, that was. She wasn't going out there by herself.

Bash widened his eyes and shook his head at Thomas. But then at her concession that she may dance tonight, he dipped his head and briefly kissed her neck in appreciation.

"Drinks?" He asked the group, "This rounds my treat," he definitely needed one - at least - to dull his senses a bit so as to calm down his raging need for Sofia. Once he had everyone's order, he stepped away with another quick kiss to her lips, and stopped at the bar to get them. He headed back to the little group and handed out the glasses, sipping his own sazerac (no lemon twist).

"If Bash keeps buying drink then you might." Thomas smirked. He couldn't remember he saw Bash act like a love drunk schoolboy. It was a nice change, if a little odd. They'd both been brooding, borderline cynics since they started their training.

"Oh, Bash. Penicillin?" A bit of a departure, but it was a good sipping drink. Thomas wanted to see how this night progressed.

Lily popped up at Sofia's request. Lily had jumped at the chance for a night out. She'd ended whatever her and Gavin had and needed to keep her mind off of it. "I'll dance!"

Anything to not feel like the little sister. She'd grown up around Thomas and he still looked at her the same way Albie did. She wondered what Ablie would say if she told him what she'd been doing.

"Now?" She pulled on Sofia's arm as they walked to the dance floor.

Sofía beamed, inwardly delighted that Thomas - she didn’t feel comfortable enough to call him Tommy yet - seemed to approve of her enough to hint that he might share some embarrassing stories about Bash. It was the perfect distraction from the way Bash kept looking at her as though she was the most delectable treat that was just out of his reach.

She passed her paloma back to Bash to look after, letting Lily tug her along with no resistance. There was something about the atmosphere of the club and her outfit that made her feel downright sexy, a side of herself that she’d only really discovered recently. Sofía hoped that Lily would get to feel some of that tonight after the confusing jumble of things that had happened between her and Gavin Montgomery.

“I love this song!” They’d been playing music to plants in the greenhouse this week and this tune was one that kept getting stuck in her head.

	Lily tried to keep up with Sofia's moves, she needed to just forget everything tonight. She felt the beat trying to mirror Sofía as she moved. The further they got into the song, the looser Lily felt like coming up for air. "I can see why!" She closed her eyes, focusing on the beat. "You and Bash look good together!" Sofía moved closer so that she could hear Lily better, her dark curls shifting around her shoulders. "Thanks!" It was so weird to hear someone say that after keeping things secret for weeks, but lovely at the same time. She couldn't help the wide smile on her face, glancing back over her shoulder to try and spot Bash. "He's so sweet to me."

She was probably the only person in the world who'd ever said that about Bash Pucey. Was it wrong to be a little smug about that?

Bash watched his girlfriend - that word still sounded so weird to him, privately - dance with her roommate. They both looked younger than the rest on the dance floor, but his eyes barely strayed from Sof anyway. She looked incredible. So much it nearly hurt.

Tommy had asked about the start of their relationship, after the Gossip Guru post, and Bash had been honest (not about their activities in his Lab at the hospital, of course, but about their falling for each other while he was training her). The small smile on his face as he watched her had Tommy laughing at him and he shoved his friend, not too hard though so as not to splash their cocktails. He laughed, while he did it, though, and gave a slightly self-abashed smile.

It was odd being out at a club, but seeing his friend enjoying himself and seeing Sofia and Lily dance - carefree and laughing and smiling - gave him a sort of feeling he wasn't used it. It felt... right. Like something in his life was making him... happy. Something other than potions and solitude.
