What: reaching out
When: 24 January, 2027
Where: texts
Warnings: TBD

Liam:
Tina: so. I have an idea. It's snowing really hard. Right? What if we just... snowed ourselves in at the cottage?

Hailey:
Tina: hey 👋 I know you've likely got millions of other things going on but big sister to big sister... I could use some advice?

Jules:
Tina: I think I am finally feeling like myself again after the holidays. Didn't help Miguel had the baby just after. It was... weird. Seeing him with his daughter.

That's really good news! It is really weird seeing him with the baby, but I'm glad you're feeling better.

How is everything going with the family melding? I know you're all adults, but it's got to be weird, right?

It's going well, but I think that's because we haven't really had to be together since the holidays. I think the baby is due soon ish? So I'm sure my mother will try to get us together soon. I still haven't had to like... officially introduce Liam to the family as my Liam. It's giving me anxiety.

How are you? How were your holidays?

What about it makes you anxious? He's your person.

I'm doing well. My holidays were quite lovely. I have a person too Kezia has reached out a couple of times since Christmas, but I haven't decided how involved I'd like her to be in my life.

The family is so big now. It isn't just Jasp and mum. It's... everyone. Uncle Hyperion, his kids, the whole country. That's how it feels...

How did you guys spend it? Mum had us all pile in for Christmas day. Jasper was already there before I got there Christmas Day. I think he and Kenzie stayed the night.

Do you have anymore questions for her? It might be a good place to start.

Do you think you would be able to do something just with Jasper and your mum first? I would imagine they'd understand if you weren't comfortable doing the whole big family the first official time. They do know you, after all!

Welllll, Raziel and I spent Christmas Eve together. It was everything and so much more than I could have hoped for! And then we had family stuff on Christmas morning.

I don't think so? But I believe her story, and I'm not upset with her for giving Thad and I up. I've loved my life, my parents are the absolutely best. But I also think it wouldn't be terrible to have another someone? She'll never be my mum, but there is a connection there.

I might be able to. I also reached out to Hailey. She made a good point so I might be able to just do mum and Jasper. Or just mum. Brunch. Informal. This is ridiculous. I shouldn't be worried that it's too soon, right? If I'm able to move on...

That sounds fantastic! Did he stay for the family stuff? Does this mean we can double date soon? I can find a good concert for us to crash.

I think that's very fair. You grew inside of her. I feel like you'll always have some sort of connection. It seems impossible to not.

I don't think it's too soon at all! It's not like there's a standard timetable for these things. You should do whatever makes you most comfortable.

He did not, it feels way too soon for that! But he did stay the night. It was my first time I think he'd probably like a concert, but I'm not so sure I would be comfortable.

We can find something more your speed, whatever you'd like. There's always nice little bistros where we can grab food. Something smaller and intimate. Less people. Heck, once it's nice enough out we can always make a nice dinner at the cottage.

How was him staying the night? I'm nervous for that Did he snore?

We'll figure something out. I could probably handle a small venue on a slower night? And I bet with Raziel there, it will be even less stressful But a quiet dinner at home sounds like a great starting point.

He did not snore. It was kind of amazing having him next to me.
