Liam’s birthday was quickly approaching and Tina wanted to be sure that she was able to give him his birthday gift before his actual birthday. She assumed he would be spending his time with his family. Tina also knew how she wanted to celebrate his birthday with him, without anyone else. She didn’t want to take him out to dinner, she didn’t want to have him over to Clary’s place. It had seemed obvious once it had come to her, she could have him over to what was technically her home. Her mother paid people to keep everything run and keep the place up. Tina was one of those people, she had volunteered to keep the greenhouse going. It was selfish Tina reasoned, as she was using it to keep David warm for the winter. He hadn’t been fairing well at Clary’s.
The first thing Tina had done was start dinner. She wanted to go all out, making one of his favorite meals, complete with sides, and a small birthday cake dessert. All made by Tina. While things were cooking, she had slipped into the greenhouse to string fairy lights to give the softer glow, using her wand so they’d reach all the way to the top of the domed roof. Once she was happy with that, she went about lighting the candlesticks on the chandelier that hung above the glass table, and the various ones scattered throughout. Her mother was something of a romantic, something Tina had inherited from her.
Then came her quick outfit change. She used her wand to quickly curl her hair, and change her outfit from her work attire to a dress that she felt comfortable and covered in. It only showed the smallest sliver of skin, making her feel a little daring. Once ready, she levitated everything out to the greenhouse, being sure everything would stay warm for when Liam did arrive.
She heard the sound of Liam arriving by floo, her smile only growing as she stood in the kitchen sending the dessert to the greenhouse. “Sorry! Was just getting the food out to the greenhouse. I hope you don’t mind, I was thinking we would do dinner out there,” she said, while walking into the living room barefoot.
