RP: A Biker and a Bartender
Who: Rachel + Scorpius
What: Rachel's Mental Health Day
When: 10/19/2027
Where: Victory Road
Warnings: N/A
Completion Status: Ongoing Complete

Rachel never asked her mother for a day off but something had been nagging her when she woke up that morning. Lacing on a pair of runners and a light windbreaker she stepped out her front door and almost in the the path of a motorcyclist.

"Hey you wanker! Watch where you're driving that thing." She yelled after the motorist who was slowing down.

"Shit!" She didn't realize he could hear her underneath the helmet. She watch as the biker kicked down the stand and dismounted before pulling his helmet off his face. Platinum blonde hair. A Malfoy maybe? She couldn't quite sure but her hand thumbed the handle of her wand just in case.

The days of being able to ride his bike around town were coming to an end far faster than he liked. He already had to wear the jacket with extra warming charms from Aunt Dora in order to stay warm on the bike. It was why he was out today, enjoying one of those last few days in the heated leather jacket he loved so much once the fall hit.

Lost in the meditative state he seemed to be able to find when riding, that state of mind that cleared all of the worries away. He had no problems, no sister that was pregnant by a married man, no friend in a serious relationship, no worries about the job he didn't have. He was just enjoying the ride.

Right until Rachel had walked out nearly in front of him. He had swerved, definitely missed her, but he was coming to a stop anyway. He wanted to be sure she was alright. "Rachel!" he called out, taking his helmet off, and setting it on the back of the bike. "Are you alright?" he asked, voice filled with concern as he made his way back over to her.

"Scor!?" Rachel loosened her grip on her wand. "I'm unscathed, about to go for a run. I hadn't realize to got the bike up and running."

She wasn't actually sure if she should hug him but she relaxed into a smile. "It's good to see you." She pushed her mental fog to the edges of her mind. "So where are you jetting off to?"

It was only when she loosened her grip that he noticed she had apparently been clutching her wand. His brows perked in curiosity, did she not trust him? Had she thought he was someone else? Who would want to harm Rachel?

"It's good to see you too," he agreed with that easy smile. "I actually didn't have a set place, I was just getting out to be sure to enjoy this weather before the cold sets in." He motioned towards his bike, looking back at Rachel. "Have you rode on a bike before?" he asked curiously, debating if she might like a ride instead of a run.

Rachel weighed her options. She did enough moving around during her shifts so the run wasn't necessary, just a way to clear he head. She looked down at her shirt and running shirts. "I haven't. Mostly brooms." She shrugged. "Can't you wait here a moment?"

She didn't even wait for his answer before she bolted upstairs pulling on a pair of jeans, bootsboots, and one of her leather jackets before rushing back downstairs. "So to nowhere in particular?"

Scor's head bobbed in a nod, he would wait for her. When she came back, he had used his wand to multiple his helmet so that she would have one herself. He held the identical one out to her. "For you, I can shrink it to fit if it's too big," he said happily.

Once the helmet was out of his hands, he slipped his back on to his head, before he was heading back to his bike. He swung one leg over, straddling the bike. It was then that he held his other hand out for her, an offer to help her on the back of the bike. "Anywhere you'd like to go?" he called out to her.

"Anywhere but a bar." She replied throwing her leg over the bike.

A warm laugh left the blonde, and the bike roared to life under them at the same time. "Hold on tight," he called out to her, and once he felt her holding on, he took off.

There was no set destination, there rarely was when Scor was on the bike. Instead of playing it safe and poking about the city, he started by taking them out of town. Once able, he steered them to the coast. It didn't take long, closest coast was just under 60km away from where they were. He took them up the coast, enjoying the views as they weaved along the roads.

It was well over an hour later that he pulled off to the side of the road. He let his feet hit the ground, before he was lifting his helmet to shout to her. "Hey, did you want to grab something to eat?" he was doing his best to turn his head, without bonking helmets against each other. He was clumsy enough that it was a worry.

As they climbed to speed, Rachel closed her eyes behind the helmet visor. It was like flying except somehow more calming. At this point if she was flying she was competing but as they careened through the city and out of town she found herself melting into Scorpius and almost forgetting where she was.

It was until the bike shifted down and came to a controlled stop that she came out of her trance. She didn't realize she had worked up any type of appetite. "I am a bit hungry. Have a place all the way out here you frequent?" She found she couldn't stop smiling.

Did he know a place? He thought for a moment, and shook his head. "No, but I'm sure there's got to be something in the next exit," he called back, her smile infectious, causing him to grin from ear to ear. He'd find them someplace, he was sure of it.

With a quick motion, he pulled the face mask back into place, before he took off once again. Luck seemed to be on their side as they rolled into the first town, directly past a small muggle diner with a view of the water. It was absolutely perfect. He brought the bike to a stop, planting his feet. He held one hand out to help her off the bike first.

Rachel took his hand. "This is beautiful." She pulled the helmet off and laid on the bike seat. She followed Scorpius through the doors and into the small diner to a booth. "You're either lucky or know your way outside of city rather well."

He got off the bike after she had, removing his own helmet, setting it on the bike. It was then that they headed inside and found their booth. He smiled at her words, giving a rather lazy shrug. "It's probably been a mix of both, since Pop got me the bike," he admitted, dark jade eyes cutting to the window to check on the bike, before his attention was back to the woman seated with him.

"What've you been up to? How are things?" he asked once they had placed their order with their waitress, Scorpius having ordered himself a grilled cheese and order of French fries.

"Quidditch and bartending." Rachel placed her own order for a Tuna Melt. "Ended up being part of Pansy's 'Date a Celebrity' game at the fundraiser."

Rachel leaned back in her seat. The ride out of the city and the scenery from their little booth seemed to lift her spirits as they continued to catch up on each others lives.
