Tina couldn't help the look of exasperation when Lyra mentioned the public scene. "That's all our marriage is, one big public scene," she admitted sadly, it was what made everything so much harder for the little introvert. She had thought she could handle Miguel being famous, they had never had this problem until now. Now all she wanted... She couldn't have.
While she may have been lost in her own pity thoughts for a moment, she did hear the bits about how she shouldn't have said anything. What did she say? She knew there was no way her husband would let this go, not now that he knew his own flesh and blood would be out there. While he wouldn't leave Tina, she knew that he would want to be part of his child's life. It was those thoughts that helped Tina pull herself together, not for herself, but for the man she really did love.
"I'm not very good with words, so please forgive me if I say something wrong, or ridiculous," she started, taking a deep breath a moment later. "Of course you should have said something. I'm sure you did some googling of his name, I doubt anything good came up recently," she admitted, glancing down at her lap. She hated those articles. "He really is a good man, very family orientated. Now that he knows he'll have his own blood out in the world, he won't leave it be. He'll want to be as involved as he's able to." She felt better saying it, her stomach churned though. It didn't seem to solve that upset stomach of hers. "As for our marriage? It was broken long before now, we should never," she caught herself, surprising herself at how very honest she was about to be to a stranger.
