Just started reading a novel - the fiancee of the protagonist is named Hattie. Makes for some interesting inner dialogue.

For those I'm RPing with, and you know who you are, I apologize for my absence of late. My kids' birthday was last Friday (They're EIGHT. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!?) and the weekend was spent as an extension of that. My hubby's b-day is the 25th, and of course this week is Thanksgiving here in the good ol' U.S. of A. I'll be around as I can, but as I fell asleep last night at 8:30 and I'm ready to head for bed right about now tonight or else flop over from exhaustion, I may be hit or miss for a few days. Just a little heads-up, and I hope everything returns to normal sooner rather than later.

Name: Emma Frost

History: Emma is the middle daughter of three, and third child overall, born to a wealthy businessman and her wife. From an early age all of Emma's siblings knew that they had to be really superb to get their father's approval and attention. The only one who didn't seem to care was Christian, who had little ambition but a lot of heart.

Emma excelled in school, and was always quick to pick up on things. This was not enough to gather her father's attention. Emma began to join extracurricular activities, an became captain and leader of them all, in time. Still, his attention was turned elsewhere. It frustrated the young girl, and no amount of sympathy from her brother would deter her from trying to impress her father.

It was an accident when she found her father with the maid in his office. Emma didn't know it at the time, but she'd found the key to his attention. He began to offer her things, bribes to keep her quiet. In time, Emma found out more of his secrets, and began leveraging them against her father. She began to wonder if he was secretly proud of her.

Adrienne, Emma's older sister, was the first to manifest a mutation. It drew attention away from Emma, and made all the girls more subject to her whims. It was hell, for the two years that the older girl had dominance over her. Emma often wondered if she hadn't manifested her own powers out of a stubborn refusal to let Adrienne win. With her telepathy, Emma learned all the secrets that he sisters knew, and began using all of it against their father.

It took time, but Emma became very good with her telepathy, learning to control it, and assault the minds of those around her for her own gain.

Any special abilities: Emma has telepathy, which she can use for blunt attacks against other minds. It also makes her very susceptible to attack from other, better trained psychics.

Domino was calm as she held Moira's hand, checking over the little girl's weapons again. Moira had been eager to go with her parents, but also a little afraid. She knew there was a war, and that the war would mean bad things. But they were only going to be there for an hour, and she wanted to help her mom and dad.

The women watched Nathan calibrate the machine, and Domino patted her girl's head. "It'll be okay, Momo. We'll be in and out real fast with your older brother in tow. Everything will be good."

Moira nodded, hugging her mom impulsively. "I know, Mom. I'm just excited is all." She gave her mom a big smile, which Domino eagerly returned.

Oh well done. Well done indeed. I must say this isn't at all what I had anticipated.
