WHO: Wanda and Holmes
WHAT: Wanda is wandering (hehehehe) around hoping to find something to eat.
WHERE: The Tavern at the Inn
WHEN: Evening, Day 18
WARNINGS: None yet
STATUS: Incomplete
Curious brown eyes rimmed with a strikingly bright circle of silver searched the Inn for a friendly face. By now, she could tell the difference between a Soul and a human even without having to look for their eyes. Souls had a calm way about them, always gentle and polite (unless they were inside a resisting host body of course). Humans, however, were lively and spirited. They moved about differently, with a great deal of purpose and strength. They got angry and yelled, threw things. Humans and Souls were very different. It was a miracle that some of them were able to actually get along with each other. It had certainly taken the group at Jeb's some time to get along with her. Some still gave her sideways looks when they thought she wasn't looking.
But none of them were here. These were all different people, humans. Not Souls. Not a single one of them. What had happened to the Souls? Wanda rubbed her hands over her arms in an attempt to warm them. She suddenly felt so alone. As much as she had gotten used to living with humans, people whom she now called her family, she still felt a tang of regret that there weren't at least a few of her species still out there somewhere. Or perhaps there were? She shuddered at that. The thought alone was worse than her being the only Soul here.
She turned off to her left and found an empty table toward the back of the tavern. Taking a seat, she continued her casual sweep of the place. Her stomach rumbled from hunger, but she was much too shy to go up and ask anybody how she could get something to eat. She didn't have any money, and she knew that humans only accepted money in exchange for goods and services. Had this been a Soul stronghold, she could have just walked out with whatever she wanted without any need to pay a dime. But things in this world were different. How different, she wasn't sure, but she had a feeling she was about to find out.
