Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:sylar (future), tesla echolls, tesla spencer (toddler)

Who:Tess, Ickle!Tess and Future!Sylar. (Yes, you can all pick your jaws up off the floor now!)
Where/When:Sylar's place, Tuesday afternoon.
What: Friendliness, bonding, kid talk.
Warnings/Status: Totally safe. Except maybe language. In prog.

So, Sylar wasn't as big of an epic douche as Tess had originally thought. She was still slightly wary, especially now that she'd seen the show and knew what he was capable of but he had no reason to hurt Teacup, or her. No special brain powers there, aside from pure, school-engraved knowledge.

New York was going to be cold. So Tess not only bundled Teacup up for that, but she took her to buy some more colder-climate appropriate things before Godboxing them and her things out to New York. Meh. It wasn't as bad as it had been when she had morning sickness but it still wasn't fun and Ace gave a disapproving kick. But it was free transport. Tess paused and looked at the door, then knelt by Teacup, adjusting her hat over her ears.

"Ok, you, are going to like it here and you know if you ever want to see me or Logan you just ask on the board, ok?" The little version of herself nodded and Tess smiled at her, stood to take her hand and walked to knock at the door, thumb stroking the back of the child's hand soothingly, even though she wasn't exhibiting fear. She was brave, and she liked "Sywah", so she just waited intently to get to see him.

Sylar might well, not be an epic douche, but with the mood he was in at the moment he would be consider the douche of all douches, just because damn, that show was such a damn mindfuck. First it told him that the Petrelli's were his family, and, he'd slowly come to accept that. They were good to him, here are least, even though they were turning the TV version of himself into a pussy, but, here they let him be how he wanted to be. But then! Then last night he found out that he apparently wasn't their son like he suspected! And well, for the time being he wasn't quite sure what to believe. After all, Angela had been ao good to him, would she stop that now? On the bright side, well, at least he wasn't related to Ethan anymore, and that was a good thing, then he didn't have to worry about the whole 'Oh hay, you're sleeping with your brother' thing. That was good.

On top of all that he also had to worry about Elle and the fact that he had on the show killed her, which would probably make his Elle get all worried and insecure again, and that wasn't a good thing at all.

Either way, he still wanted to kill Bennet, and right now he was brooding about not having his powers, because he was itching to go out and get something new to play with. He was like a junkie one could say. Addicted to getting new powers, to what it felt like, and now, without it he was like a junkie going through withdrawl.

He frowned a bit when there was a knock on the door, he had a headache and would have gladly spent the day in on his own, just being able to get over his mood on his own, but, he had the feeling that if he didn't answer the door they would just continue trying to get in, so he could at least go tell them to leave. With a soft groan he got up and made his way to the door, opening it and his mouth to say that they had to leave, but before he did he opened his eyes and stared at his guests, wideeyed, because he hadn't been expecting those two.

"Tesla!" he exclaimed, though quickly frowned as he looked down at the little girl as well. "Or well, Teslas. Hi...What are you doing here?"

Ah boy. Tess knew 'now isn't a good time' better than anyone so she put on a charming smile and gave Teacup's hand a gentle little squeeze. "Well you've seemed down and stuff. . because of your problem," Looked around carefully and smiled at him again. "So I thought it wouldn't hurt for you to meet the midget, smile a little." She was a halfway decent liar at least, glad that at the moment he couldn't read her thoughts. She wouldn't mind, and she really didn't like to see anyone bummed out at all.

Teacup grinned excitedly up at him. "Sywah!!" And jumped from holding Tess's hand to wrap herself around him in an excited hug. "Hiiii! We tum a cheer oo up!" She pulled back to grin up at him, all baby teeth and big eyes. Sweet little face just happy to see him.

Tess put a hand on her shoulder and gave Sylar an understanding little smile. "If it's a bad time it's ok, we can just come back some other time." Fet the bag in her hand suddenly and her mouth formed an 'o'. "I can always take her to get some more here-weather-appropriate stuff."

Down? He seemed down? That wasn't even the start of it. But, then again, Tesla didn't know him, not really, and he knew that she hadn't seen the latest episodes of that damn show, which was really why he was even more upset over it all. "Problem," Sylar said quietly, following it by a snort of laughter. "One that's one way to put it," he added in a murmur, shaking his head a bit. He was still tempted to send her home, tell her to come back another day, but of course, before he could there was something else that intervened his trail of thought.

He raised his brow and looked down at the little girl who now had her arms firmly around his thighs as she couldn't reach up any further, and well, it worked, a small smile cracking across his face. "No, it's okay Tess, you traveled far," he said softly, his hands going down to pry hers away from around him, though only so he could kneel down and be eye level to her while speaking to her.

"She will need more winter clothes though, especially if we're going to go out in the snow, won't you sweetie?" he said, directing his question at the little girl, even though he cast a glance up at Tess and grinned at her. "You do a good job at cheering up you know," he told her, the little one, and brought a hand up, poking her nose before grinning again. "Do you want some cocoa?"

"Yeah I lived in Cleveland one year, it gets cold there too, I just wanted to get a start. . ." Waved her hands to signal she could say more but wouldn't. "I just. . .felt really bad that you were on your own dealing with this, I know sometimes it's just easier to ignore the world and deal sometimes but. . I know it feels good to smile too." Like he was right then. Tess didn't fully know why she felt so . .at ease when it came to Sylar, unafraid. Why she felt so much empathy for him and compassion and. . .maybe she even cared for him as a friend. But she wasn't sure admitting that would do her any good just then.

Little Tess smiled up at Sylar like the made the sun shine every day, reached to gently hold his cheeks in tiny, chubby hands and stood on tiptoe to kiss his chin, and Tess watched, astounded by it. It was something she had often done with Gus as a small child, and her adopted father, something she still did with Logan today, easy since she was so much shorter. A sign of respect, and affection. "I dwad oo feel bettah, Sywah."

At the mention of cocoa she lit up even bright and gasped with joy, her hands moving off of his face to clasp together near her tiny little heart. Tess had once seen her capacity to love without question as a weakness and in her teen years, angry at her parents for having died, angry at the Gusters for trying to replace them. . .Now, as a grown woman looking down at the infantile version of herself, perhaps because of the child growing in her womb then or the hormones that gave off, she saw it as one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen, and her eyes were glistening with tears that she refused to shed as she smiled down at her. "Yes pwease, totoa!"

"Oh does it now? And here I thought New York was the only place in the world to be blessed with the beauty that is winter," Sylar said sarcastically, though, he knew what she meant by it and he gave her a little smile. "Well, you should come in and rest, at least for an hour to acclimatize, and then we can go out. Like. Together," he offered, but of course, that was a one time thing. He didn't have his powers after all, so it wasn't like he could do anything to her anyway. But, it was actually good to meet someone that wasn't afraid of him. Who wasn't cowering and only agreeing to things he suggested and offered because they were scared he would hurt them if they didn't do what he wished. "I just can't believe God spilled the beans to you on it all. You would think she'd be a little discreet about it all," he said, the frown returning to his face for a moment, lips pressed together to form a thin line. "I just wish I could lock myself in a room and put myself into a coma until I got them back."

He was annoyed again, but, there was a good thing about him and kids, and the fact that they had this little effect on him that really, no matter how angry he was, if they were sweet his cold heart would melt, and that was just what it did when he felt her hands on his cheeks, and he looked at her with wide eyes. "Oh honeypie, well aren't you just the sweetest thing in the world," he murmured, and then pulled her closer to him and kissed the top of her head. "You make me feel better already." And that was true too.

Sylar started laughing when he saw her reaction to the mention of the hot, chocolatey drink, he could definitely provide that, or well, there was one of them who could provide it for them, though of course, he would do it if he had to. "Oh and so polite!" he exclaimed, standing up again, and then leaned down to pick the little girl up, placing her on his hip with ease before he turned to look at Tess, and a smirk twitched across his lips. "Crazy lady," he smiled and reached out, touching her cheek. "No need for you to cry. Now, get in the kitchen and make us some cocoa, woman!"

Tess smiled sheepishly at mention of God, followed them in and immediately poked to find the kitchen as she spoke to him. "God. . .we sort of have a special relationship." She told him softly, taking off her coat and going to the cupboards, digging out cocoa mix and cayenne pepper, Mexican roots always there to haunt her. Smiled over at the two of them. "My parents died when I saw six," She told him softly, lowering her eyes as she set to work getting a kettle going, pouring mix into mugs for Sylar and Teacup, had found a bag of tea for hersef since she avoided chocolate and other caffeines. "They were in a plane crash and friends of the family adopted me. Anyway, God looked out for me when I was alone in another world for a couple of months and a few years here. It's felt like years, anyway."

Leaned against the counter as she waited for the pot to boil, Teacup settled in Sylar's arms still, happily trailing one, tiny fingertip across the stubble on his cheek, amused at the feeling. Logan rarely had stubble, so she was used to his face being smooth and even the older Tess couldn't recall if her father had ever gone a day without a smooth shave. Teacup decided it was a welcome roughness, and leaned to press a sweet little kiss to the prickly skin, giggling at the tickle it produced, wiping her mouth to try and get rid of it. Tess watched with a chuckle, standing straight when the kettle began to whistle.

Added a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cups, not enough to make the cocoa actually spicy, but it would add a pleasant warming sensation to it. Added the water and mixed it up, looked up at Sylar and smiled. "My Abuelita used to always make it this way, she used raw cocoa though, made all of it herself." The packaged stuff wasn't any different. "It wont burn you, but it's good in the winter to keep your body warm. Warm you up from the cold. You can add marshmallows or whatever you like, she'll drink it plain or all dressed up." Pinched Teacup's cheek playfully, poured the remaining water from the kettle into a teacup, added the bag she had found and stirred it. The smell made Ace give a happy little wiggle and she sighed tiredly, patting the spot. "All right, all right. Settle down, no sugar this time, I'd like to sleep later tonight."

"Well, that's sweet. I wish I did... She's just a bitch to me and takes away my powers," Sylar said, the words were dripping with bitterness, but with obvious reason, he wasn't happy, and he wanted his powers back. It didn't feel like he was himself without them after all. He raised a brow when he saw what she was getting out the make the cocoa, but he didn't comment at it. She was a chef and probably knew what she was doing after all. "They...did?" he asked, looking surprised at her. He hadn't known that, nor had he been expecting it, and he settled onto one of the barstools around the kitchens little island while shifting Teacup so that she was sitting in his lap properly, and just as if it was the most natural thing in the world he pressed a soft kiss to the top of her head. "I'd so sorry to hear that. That's awful," he murmured, frowning a bit still. "But, good for God, I guess...she gives to those who deserve it. Well. Somewhat. There's still tons of people out there with powers they don't understand or deserve."

He raised his brow at the feeling of a tiny finger stroking his cheek and he looked down at the little girl with a slightly raised brow, though he was grinning, and even wider when she kissed his cheek. "I think she likes me," he told the older with a firm nod, and then turned his attention back to the little one. "I like you."

Sylar was about to open his mouth as he was reminded of the weird ingredient as she put it in, but before he could get any words out she started to answer his question. "Ah right, I've...never seen it served like this, I was wondering what the fu...what you were doing," he said, clearing his throat and shifting a bit and wondering if the miniature caught the almost said bad word. "But alright, I'll take note of that, and I have mini marshmellows. Right now they're currently shaped like snowmen," he said, his cheeks going a bit red. "I love them," he mumbled, the words soft because damn, that made him seem vulnerable and pussy like, at least in his opinion.

His eyebrow popped up again when she started talking just randomly, and it took him a moment to realise just who she was talking to, though when he did he chuckled a bit. "Jesus I could never actually have a kid. I mean. Having something inside you that's alive like that?" he asked and shuddered. "I couldn't do it."
