The bells (open to anyone)
What was this place? She knew what a city was, or at least thought she knew, but this was unlike anything her eyes had ever laid upon. She had been with Peter many times to Earth, where he would go to the house of the Darlings, take Wendy and her brothers back to their home in Neverland, and have adventures. Sometimes Nana, thier dog and house keeper, came as well. Sometimes it was just she and Peter, and those were the times she cherished the most. She remembered the time that they went to fight the pirates, and Captian Hook was holding her for bait, and Peter came to save her! Oh Peter! Her heart swelled with the mere thought of Peter Pan, however he had betrayed her. He had taken her for granted, then run off to Earth to be with Wendy, and his had to grow up and forget everything. Peter had even forgotten that she loved him. Sure she was only three inches tall, but pixies have hearts too, and they break. Especially if the love of thier life forgets about them, and runs of with another woman. A stupid one at that. Oh she couldn't stand Wendy! She had wished many times for the girl to have an accident, and there had been times that Tink had convinced the Lost Boys to shoot arrows at Wendy as she flew, or had pushed her into the lagoon for the mermaids to drown. That always brought a smile to Tinks pretty little face. The fact that Peter had left Neverland for good had just about killed Tinker Bell. She had been in her little house, curled up in her little bed, waiting for the darkness to take her. Pixies have a very short lifespan, like most small winged creatures and bein broken hearted didn't help.

But she was here, and very confused. After fluttering around the streets, lonely and confused, Tinker Bell settled down on the arm of a wooden bench in the park, her white dress, the shroud she was going to wear for her final journey to the Garden, fluttering around her tiny, curvy frame. She had put her face in her hands, palms cupping her jaw, fingers splayed over her eyes, releasing large, exaggerated sobs. She crossed one of her legs over the other, wings fluttering sadly. Her whole body glowed, and she was a small glowing ball of gold against the darkness. Everywhere she moved she left gold pixie dust, though it didn't have anything to grasp onto, so it faded simply away. She was aware that she was alone, and though it was scary, she could only feel sad at the moment. Pixies could only feel one emotion at a time, so sometimes her emotions could get a little exaggerated and take her over.

She sniffled, pulling her face out of her hands, setting her chin in her palm, and her elbow against her knee, large wet years still spilling over the lower rim of her eyelids, leaving tiny streaks on her cheeks. She sighed, looking around at the very large park, trying to find somewhere that might look remotely comfortable to live. She didn't see any bird houses, or any trees that might have vacant holes in them. She was a tiny little woman in a big persons world, and she was all alone.

She opened her mouth for a moment, saying something to herself, a series of small tinkles erupting into the night instead of words. The voice of the pixie was too high pitched for humans, except for a certain few that could learn to hear it, but she had nobody here to translate. Peter could understand her, the Lost Boys too, and she missed them terribly. She missed the pirates, the Indians, the Lost Boys, and even the tickin crocodile. She hated the mermaids and tiger lily, but she made exceptions for them when they were being mean to Wendy. But they wouldn't do that anymore.

Why her? She didn't know. She wiped her eyes with her hands, and sat there by herself, not knowin what she was going to do. It was a big world out there, and she was so little, and this was so different to her. She was now all alone.

It was not too awful a day and with little else to do Christine had decided to take a walk. With her comfortable shoes on she could walk for hours and spent some time going in and out of a few of the stores here. As much as she would not take advantage of the money she had it did not mean she could not pick up some times. Some more dresses or rehearsal wear. She felt guilty when it came to using Erik's money but now that she was being paid to perform she had some money of her own. Even if Erik would not have her wanting for anything.

She had purchased only a few things so did not have a lot of things to carry as she continued to walk. She spent a bit too much time either in the manor or the opera house and she knew that. She should get out for fresh air more often. But sometimes that was difficult given she so enjoyed being in both places. They were both home.

As she walked, the quietness was interrupted by a serious of almost bell like sounds. She frowned but did not quite see where it was coming from. Stopping at a bench, she placed her bag on it and searched for a bottle of water she had brought with her. That was one modern thing she rather liked given it meant she would not have to search or wait just for a simple drink.

Tink sighed, using her tiny fingers to brush the large, moist tears from the swells of her tiny cheeks, sniffling once more, before looking up at the sound of footsteps. People sure knew how to be noisy, but the sounds of shoes hitting the concrete caught her attention, causing Tink to look up and around for the source of the noise. Finally she spotted it, a woman was approaching the vicinity where she was currently perched, causing the pixie to narrow her eyes. Suddenly her sadness had vanished, and a spiteful mood swam into her head. Pixies could only feel one emotion at a time, and so she felt no fear, and no remorse for the current attitude of spite she was feeling. Her hands curled into fists as the woman approached, and when the large woman sat down, Tink shot to her feet, wings flapping which released a cloud of pixie dust into the air. She turned to face the woman, and stomped her foot, looking up at te woman like she was disturbing her space.

It was nothing personal against the woman, Tink didn't know her, but she had a very large mistrust for women, considering one had completely stolen the love of her life. It was going to take a very large act of kindness from the woman, if she was going to win the pixie over. Tink's wings flitted with annoyance, covering that side of the bench with gold dust.

Christine thought, rather than standing, perhaps it would be better to take a seat. Rest for a few moments until she felt like getting up again. It was not like the rain was falling or anything so a seat would be nice. Watch the people go by. It was something a performer should do, actually. People watch. Take it on board for the future and whenever she had to go back on stage again. After all, she would need plenty of experience to look back on. Plenty of people to base characters on. It would help. Make her able to reach a lot of different characters.

Suddenly, she started coughing as a cloud of dust covered her face, waving her hand to clear it and when it was gone she was shocked to see what was there before her. She knew things were not exactly normal here but this? This was almost absurd. Even more gold dust flew out and yet Christine just kept staring.

"Oh my word," she breathed out, staring at the woman like creature before her. But not in a mocking way. She found her incredibly beautiful and intriguing.

Tink folded her arms over her chest, and opened her mouth to say horrible things about the woman sitting in her space, though instead if speaking words, since the woman probably didn't understand pixie language, a shrill bell sound rang out, sounding obviously irritated. Tinker Bell flapped her wings and floated into the air without a second though, narrowing her eyes at the woman. She fluttered upwards, buzzing around the woman's head, leaving more and more dust as she went. This was special dust, however the woman didn't know that, and finally when Tink was through making it clear she was upset she paused infront of the woman's face, looking her over. She sort of reminded Tink of Wendy, and that got her going all over again.

Tinker Bell was new to this world, she didn't quite know the rules, and so she did the same things she would do naturally in her own world, fluttering over to the woman, grasping strands of the woman's dark hair in her little hands, tugging on them as hard as she could, wings pulling her backwards. She had nothing against the woman personally, she just was stating her point. It was rude to interrupt creatures while they were sulking.

If the woman was willing to be patient, the pixie would come around once she didn't see her as a threat, but that would take a very large act of kindness on the woman's part to change the pixies heart and mind.

Christine gasped at the pull to her hair. It wasn't exactly overwhelmingly painful but it was enough to feel rather sore. But she didn't lash out to push the small woman away, given her kindness was often extended to most. And even if she was not exactly the size she was used to, well anyone was, she still looked human. It was rather odd. And then came the wings. She did, however, pull at her hair and try to get it out of her hold. She should be stronger than her so it shouldn't be too difficult.

"Excuse me!"

She really did wish she was able to respond as she imagined many would. With violence. But, no, she could never turn to violence. Especially on something so delicate, apparently, as who was before her. She sighed and finally managed to gain her hair back and she quickly brushed it behind her ears and down her back.

"I would appreciate if you did not do that." Could it even understand her?

Tinker Bell released the woman's hair, and landed once more on the arm of the bench, where she was able to look up at the woman, folding her arms over her chest. She huffed, then waited, tilting her head in wonder when the woman didn't even do so much as swat at her. Well that was no fun at all. If they had been at Mermaid Lagoon, Tink definitely would've pushed the woman into the water to let the mermaids deal with her. There was something about this woman, however, as much resemblance to Wendy as she bore, that was different. She didn't seem confrontational, which allowed Tink to be even more curious. If she didn't want to fight, what did she want?

When the woman spoke to her, Tink took off into the air again, hovering gently in the night air, looking at the face of the woman with her tiny eyes. She blinked, and lifted her hand up with her palm facing outward, almost as a sign of peace. Maybe this woman wasn't so bad after all, but Tink still didn't trust her entirely. She flitted about, backin up some, her wings carrying her on the breeze. Her white gown floated around her tiny body and it was tattered with dirt and was almost threadbare. Tink didn't seem to notice however, too concerned with why this woman was being so peaceful. She needed a translator terribly. She understood human speak, and she could respond accordingly, without words. This woman wouldn't understand her anyway.

When her curls were released she quickly brushed her hair down. She wasn't vain she just didn't want her hair sticking out like it was. Plus, the slight touch gave her the chance to rub away the very slight pain she felt from the tugging. When she finished she finally looked again at the tiny woman and still felt rather amazed at it all. Just what was she? And why was she so angered by her? Christine could not think on what she could have done to deserve the reaction. Especially given it seemed that her company did not seem able to speak.

She pulled her head back a little as she flew in front of her face. Still flying. Extraordinary. She was completely fascinated by this creature. As she floated there her eyes were drawn tot he garment covering her small body. Almost ruined. Christine may have been attacked by her but that did not mean she would not be polite or kind. So she tried her best to do what she could to seem peaceful. Not appear any sort of threat.

"Would you like me to see if we can find you a change of clothes?" Perhaps even back in the manor she had something that could be used.

Tinker Bell watched the human woman, waiting for a reaction if some sort, and there didn't really seem to be one. Pixies were known to feel only one emotion at a time, so if the pixie was angry she could feel no remorse or compassion until the anger in her had ceased to exist. Right now, Tink was fascinated by the kindness she was receiving from the woman, finding that completely unexpected. Peter at least wouldve scolded her for being so unruly, but he wasn't there. Nobody was. That made her feel sad all over again, her shoulders slumping and wings drooping as she hovered there. Of course that faded away in a moment, back to curiousity when the woman offered to find her clothes to wear.

Tink was small, only three inches in height and she was rather curvy on her top and bottom and not really so much in the middle, having more of an hourglass shape. She shook her head at the woman, not really trusting her yet. Perking back up, Tinker Bell began to shake her whole body, covering the woman in gold fairy dust, and once the shaking stopped, Tink lifted a tiny finger and pointed at a temple. Think. Then Tink smiled wide and pointed at her smile. She hoped the woman would get it. It had been so long since she'd made someone fly.

Christine felt slightly unnerved by the constant staring but really shouldn't given she was doing the exact same thing to the creature before her. She had to wonder if someone like Christine was new to this fairy like thing as she was for her? It was possible. Still, she had to come to accept that sometimes strange things happened in this place. After all, it did not seem the most normal of cities. Although she loved it for many reasons, her new found freedom being one of them, it was not familiar in many ways. So many modern appliances for example. Though the creature was the first human like thing she had laid eyes on which made her wonder just what else was different. Had there been anyone else she had failed to notice an oddity about?

Christine wished she had said yes to the clothing given she would then have had something to do for her. But if she didn't want to change her clothing then she couldn't force her. However, soon that strange dust was covering her again and Christine spluttered a little given she was not exactly expecting that to happen. It took her a moment to really realise just what was going on. Was she trying to speak to her through gestures? It seemed possible.

"Mind...Smiles?" she asked, rather confused as to what she was trying to get across.

It wasn't that she didnt need new clothes, because she did and badly, as well as a house to live in, she was just being stubborn. She had bad experiences with women so mistrust for females was something that came naturally to her, unfortunately. When Tinker Bell had followed Peter on their adventures, usually they were accompanied by Wendy, who Tink hated, or Tigerlily the Indian princess, who Tink hated too but not as much as Wendy. She despised them because they were close to Peter, and Peter had never been capable of understanding her love for him. Yes, he had been a boy but he was at least sixteen in actual human age and he was really the oldest. The leader, and the one that got away. With Wendy.

When the woman failed to get the message, Tink sighed then shook her head from side to side in almost an exaggerated fashion, before trying it again. This time, she moved her tiny lips as she "spoke", using the high pitched bell sounds that were her voice. Human hears were too sensitive to hear pixies unless they came from a world where they learned the language. Just about everyone in her world could understand her, the ones that actually listened anyway, except for the Darlings.

She mouthed the words 'happy' and 'thoughts' making the motions again with her hand, the little bells chiming in time with the words. The woman still had enough pixie dust, if only she could understand. Then she would be able to fly!

Christine could not help but feel guilty when it seemed she had not understood her. It must be difficult for her, not being able to speak. Christine hated that she didn't even know her name. She would have to see if she could get it out of her somehow. There had to be a way. She would figure it out at some point. A way to make it easy for her to tell her name. But for now she had to focus on what was already trying to be said. Only this time, she made it a lot easier to understand. Although it was only the bells she heard she could read her lips a bit better.

"Happy thoughts?" she said slowly. "You want me to think happy thoughts, is that it?"

Was it something to do with what she was? With being a fairy? Did she feel better if happy thoughts were in the minds of those around them?

When the woman had finally figured out what she was saying, Tink nodded and smiled, clapping her tiny hands. She spun around in a circle, dusting the woman again, hoping it would work this time. Tink was a common fairy, she couldn't do very many things as far as magic was concerned, she had a knack for fixing things and she could also make people fly as long as they were thinking happy, and continued to think happy. If the woman lost her happy thought, it could be bad.

Finally she understood what was being said. Good, at least that was something. She was no longer frustrating the poor woman and could perhaps do as she had asked. Although Christine did still feel incredibly unsure as to why she was to think such thoughts and she knew that there was no point in asking. Perhaps she would find out if she went ahead and done as she was asked. If not then she would try and get some sort of explanation from her. Then that dust was covering her again and she frowned at the woman but did not say anything.

She might as well do as she had been asked.

So she closed her eyes. That made it easier to think up a happy thought. Her mind went to her few shared kisses with Erik. His face as he heard her sing. How her heart fluttered and her stomach flipped when his eyes fell on her. She thought on how much she smiled when surrounded by everything about him and how happiness filled her entire body. He was everything she needed to be happy. Now that she had the thought she opened her eyes and continued to elaborate on it in her mind.

When the woman had closed her eyes, Tinker Bell smiled wide, a grin from ear to ear almost, and waited patiently for the magic to start doing it's work. Tink hoped that the sudden motion of flying wouldn't startle the woman too badly, she didn't want her to lose those happy thoughts, especially not when the woman was airborne. She was liable to break an arm if she was too high and lost her train of thought.

It only took half a second, it seemed, for the woman to start floating slowly into the air, and Tink spun around excitedly, dousing the grass and concrete beneath her in gold pixie dust, though it just disappeared without a trace, and Tink fluttered backwards so the woman would have enough room to fly if she wanted to. Of course, it was a natural thing where Tink was from, however this wasn't her world, and it could be taken differently.

She would just have to wait and see.

As Christine's eyes opened she was still not quite sure what was going on. Nothing seemed different. Until she realised that it felt like she was no longer sitting. Looking down, she was startled to see her feet a few inches from the ground. If she was to lower than she would be fine, she would not hurt herself too badly, but she did not want that. Was this why she had to think happily? Testing it, she focused even more on those thoughts on Erik and the times they had together and noticed it only made her go that little bit higher.

"How is this happening?" she asked, even though she knew she would not get answer.

But maybe she would. After all, they had communicated enough for this to be possible. Christine was still a little worried but she refused to put any focus on that. The last thing she wanted was to be rid of happiness and no longer be able to do this. Or to come crashing down fast. Focusing on her thoughts and on the woman before her, she found herself laughing just a little.

"This is so strange."

When Tink noticed that the woman was starting to float, she spun around with excitement, fluttering softly in the breeze, noddin at the woman, as if to tell her to keep going.

When she asked how that was possible, Tink patted her own chest with her palm, as if I say 'it was me that did it!' She flew upwards, then back downwards, before flying up just a little over the head of the woman, beckoning for her to join Tink in the air. Makin sure the woman was looking at her, Tink mouthed at her, "you can fly!" The sound of little bells chiming out excitedly.

Tink wanted her to keep up her happy thoughts, an experiment with the new weightlessness, as humans didn't usually get a chance like that to fly.

"You did it?" she asked as the woman indicated herself. She had been capable of doing this? How incredible. She still did not know how she felt about it but, well, why should she argue? The woman seemed to mean well. And, once again, she felt guilty for referring to her as such even in her head. And although this may not be the right time she had to ask.

"Your name? Can you tell me your name?"

She still felt happy enough that she did not lower. But as she read her lips again she laughed and looked at her feet. Flying. She was flying. Impossible and so amazing. She would have to tell Erik. And with him on her mind again she soared a little bit more. An almost childlike squeal left her.

"This...I cannot believe it."

"Tinker Bell" Tink mouthed at the woman in response when asked her name, pointing at herself with a tiny finger.

She left Christine to float around and enjoy the flying she was doing, before Tink flitted higher, still beckoning the woman to float higher. They would be able to go anywhere, and it would last until Christine put her feet on the ground, or lost her happy thought.

Tink didn't mind if the woman shared this with anyone, it was all that Tink was really made to do, that and repair things, but she rarely used any of the magic required for that.

"Tinker Bell?" she repeated slowly to make sure than she had the right name. She didn't want to start calling her a name that was not right. It was an odd name but she could not say it and would not say it. After all, just because she had not heard that type of name didn't give it any less credit.

She didn't move much, just floated where she was. This shouldn't be possible and she didn't want to risk things by trying to move as Tinker Bell was. Clearly she was a lot better at this than Christine was. It was normal for her. Her eyes fell to her bags and she did worry about moving far away from them in case she came back to find the few things she had gone. So for now, she was happy to rise just a few more inches but stayed where she was.

Of course it wasn't just her worry about her purchases. She still, partly, didn't know how safe this was. But she did keep making herself focus on the good things and the engagement ring on her finger was enough to help with that.

Tinker Bell nodded in response to Christine saying her name, offering the woman a grin, before extending a tiny hand out to the woman, trying to coax her further from the bench. Tink would take her far, but she wanted the woman to enjoy the experience that Tink had offered her, despite the way they had started off.

"Just relax and fly!" Tink mouthed, beckoning Christine higher in to the sky, floating herself slowly, tiny wings brushing the wind gently. Christine was the first human from this world that had seen part of what Tink could do, and Tink was happy to share her gift. She didn't know anyone that wouldn't enjoy flying, anywhere, and that was Tinks gift for Peter and the lost boys. It gave them another way to have adventures, and to have fun. Peter of course could fly on his own, he never needed Tink, but Wendy and the boys had, and if Peter was happy, then Tink was too, despite her hatred for Wendy.

Oh good, she had realised the name correctly. Although she still found it odd at least she was not mistaken. She would just have to accept the name, and had, and not ask any questions. There were no need for questions given so many things in this place just did not have answers. The origin of Tinker Bell’s name would be one of them probably.

She eyed the extended eye then caught Tinker Bell’s instructions. Yes, it was easy for her to say relax. She must be used to it. This was still a fairly new experience for her. What if it went horribly wrong? But Tinker Bell seemed so genuine that it was difficult to say no. It was like having a child before her. A child desperately in need of fun. So she pushed away the anxiety keeping her down and focused on the happiness. Looked to her ring and focused on what that made her feel. And gradually she began to lift higher and higher.

Tinker Bell was enjoying greatly this moment she was sharing with this strange, Wendy looking woman, and she was glad that they had made amends and that Tink had decided to show her how to fly. She hoped, as well, that Christine would like to fly more often, as it seemed to be something special to the humans since humans couldn't actually fly on their own.

When Tink noticed Christine relax, and begin to ascend higher, clapping her hands in excitement. Tink extended both of her arms out, to make them look like airplane wings, watching Christine, "like this!" She mounted, tiny little bell voice ringing cheerfully. She wished Peter was here to show Christine the way to do things properly, considering Tink was so small and humans couldn't understand her.

It was thrilling, having someone share her gift. It was almost like she was back in Neverland having adventures and making the boys fly. She missed that, but being here with Christine sort of made all of that disappear for the moment. Tink wished she could show everyone and have everyone understand the beauty of flight.

Seeing Tinker Bell’s reaction to her made Christine laugh and feel even more relaxed. She was happy. She was making Tinker Bell happy. The instruction was clear and slowly she held her arms out as shown and was amazed by how it changed things. Somehow it made her able to move a lot better. Although she still did not feel comfortable enough to rise so far that things were incredibly distant she guessed going just a few more inches higher would be okay.

“How do you even manage this?”

It had to do with the thoughts given how much they had been forced upon her. Christine could just not see exactly what it was. She may not do this again and in case that was definite she would like to commit everything to memory and that included how it happened. Besides, if she was going to tell Erik all about it then he would like details. She knew him well enough to know that.
