Kingsley truly wasn't certain what had happened to Emmeline while away, though he knew what had happened with him - about nothing, at least on the front of...bringing someone home. He knew that had been a joke, or at least, he thought it had been a joke (hoped it had been a joke?), as Kingsley didn't have anyone he wanted to bring home or much desire to find someone, particularly to go out and do so simply because he could. But pressure had been building up in general, in regards to Voldemort and his followers. Lots of stuff was in the works.
And Kingsley was working late the next night. But all of his focus, at the moment, was on Emmeline. The rest of it...there were always a hundred things going on in his life and always urgent important life altering...hubbub. That was just how life worked, but the people that mattered...Emmeline had asked for his company, wanted his company, out, and no it seemed doubtful, as he sat across from her with a scotch in hand - though a fair bit more at the moment than her glass had - that they would talk about...the war directly maybe. Perhaps so, perhaps not. Kingsley was able to read enemies and intent for attack in the blink of an eye, but many a times, with friends and those that mattered...he was clueless.
"Feeling any better?" Kingsley asked.
