Now that I have been given more classes to teach, it seems I have ignored this for much too long.

Spring break is arriving soon. For those of you who are students, what are your plans for it? Hopefully no drunk driving and the like.

I can't fathom the amount of money the energy drink companies make these days, nor can I believe half the things I'm reading about issues across the world, some for good and some for bad. Finally, the Egyptians have made a stand, and they are free! I've not met many of the Egyptians in so long it seems that I never met them at all, but if there are any of you here, congratulations! I could not be prouder of a people that is not and never has been my own. Mubarak's reign of terror is relinquished; Kemet has truly won! This is honestly a time worth celebrating, and I hope that all goes smoothly and well after all is said and done.

Has anyone heard about the "spice" in America as of late? Synthetic marijuana, foolish children smoking it simply for a high and being poisoned. Not to mention those Four Lokos and whatnot. It seems like the more we progress in regards to proper foods and getting them without things like pesticides, and without pus and blood and radioactive ingredients in this like milk and cheese, the world comes up with new ways to harm our youth and our overall population...what I wouldn't give for a proper Greek feast, or a proper European dinner. As much as I love the French, sometimes these healthy meals focused on filling the stomach to its proper fullness don't quite cut it. I'd die for a large bowl of pasta, for wine and song and dance...ah, but I'm reminiscing now.

Hades, how do you fare? I feel the presence of our family members has diminished, and I am not sure what to make of such a thing. Do you feel the same as well? And Mister Cassidy Turner, how goes your schooling? And Miss Gaz Membrane (Wartooth, was it?) how's it going with your "band"?

Passive-aggressive, hmm? I'm not sure Monsieur Valentine would approve in the least, but then again, I doubt he'd approve of the holiday to begin with, and at all.

Belief would be a better source of tithing than simple goodies. It's what makes those of use retain our power to the best of our abilities, you know. But I do thank you for the flattery, good sir, and I'm always slightly flustered and yet still pleased about the compliments on my looks. My husband seemed to like them well enough!

If anything, I do my very best to believe in the pantheon. Your family has been nothing but wonderful to my family, friends and I. I'm not the most devout person there ever was, but I care for all of you. After Ares' disappearance, I feel strangely out of place, however. He was my patron, after all.

Still, if you need anything, you just let me know. I'm not the goat sacrificing type, and I'm the last person to ask where to find a good virgin, but you know, anything but those.

Hah! I'll have you know I'm not at all like my family in that regard. I have no intentions to guilt any of my sisters and the like should they see this, but I have remained faithful to my husband since we were wed, and I don't intend on changing that any time soon. My granddaughter is Artemis, she who holds her chastity in the highest regard, as well as my niece, Hestia. And that's not even mentioning Pallas Athene.

No goats are necessary, either, dear heart. I am quite glad to see your belief in the pantheon continues on, even in this day and age. And no, good sir, it is not if I need anything from you, but if you need anything from me, I would be there in a heartbeat, Monsieur Turner. I'm particularly good should you and the wife need help with children, for some odd reason. :)

Well, she's currently carrying twins. If we somehow misplace our dula, I'll know who to ask for assistance! I'll let Henn know that she should talk to you if anything is needed in that regard, but I try not to rely on the help of deities more than absolutely necessary. As for my faith, well... It's hard not to believe in your family when the lot of you have been here at least once in at least one incarnation a piece, it seems.

And despite the myths and rumors, I've known nothing but kindness from all of you. Even Ares. Sure, he was a little rough around the edges, but what do you expect from the god of bloodlust and war? And, of course, virgins.

He tried to set me up with Melpomene, though. That was a whole lot of fuck no.

Ah, but that's knowledge, and that's different than belief. However, having the two coincide is hard for some people, but I do quite enjoy those who can mix the two.

A dula, really? How charming! I take it she's going to have a home birth, then? I know they have places where proper midwives set up rooms for pregnant women to come give birth, but a dula, I am not so certain. Funny, I'm wondering if that comes from "dulahin" now. I'll have to look it up!

But Ares is...well, yes, "a little rough around the edges" doesn't rightly begin to describe it, depending on the times and moods he's found in, but his purpose does not excuse his behaviour. Don't feel obliged to just "deal with it" as it were because of his nature.

[After all Phoebe's been through, can she really be expected to give many people "a break"? ...her family, that is. Aside from her daughters and the earliest of them all, it's quite hard to do so.]

...okay, now, the thing with Melpomene is just ludicrous. If I see him, I'll give him the stink eye and some attitude for you, just for that.

Believe me, lady, I have more faith in you and the members of the Greek pantheon than any other deities I have seen around. I'm not the groveling type, but like I have told you and so many of the others, I aim to serve your kind to whatever end I am asked. But I shouldn't even have to say it.

Mm, none of us are fans of hospitals, and I'm sure Sadako would help give birth wherever Henn decides to, but Henn's only first trimester, we barely have thought of anything beyond the girl's name, if there is one. I promised a certain muse I'd name my daughter after her, so Melanie is one name.

Give some for her, too. She wasn't thrilled at the idea of it, either.

No, you shouldn't. I can tell a believer when I meet them, can tell it from their aura, despite not knowing they are in one of their faith's presence. It's quite amazing, and it was when I would roam the earth from time to time back in the days where Greece was the height of all things great and terrible.

Aw, that is very sweet. And, yes, perhaps I'll give him the cold shoulder for her. Stink eye, attitude, and cold shoulder—it can go a long way!
