Who needs love, when you have Southern Comfort?
CHARACTERS: Melissa Rosier & Robert Nott
SETTING: The Silver Spoon
DATE: 8th of April, 2028
SUMMARY: Melissa’s parents are insistent she start dating so she can find her future husband. Robert is under similar pressure from his parental authorities. They are meeting for dinner to appease their parents and enjoy each other’s company.
The dress Melissa had bought for her date that night, was hanging next to her mirror while she finished putting the last curl into place. She did not need an excuse to shop for a new outfit, but going out on a date had been a good one. The clock on the wall indicated it was time to stop trying to perfect her hair and get dressed. She slipped the dress on and snapped her fingers for one of the elves to fasten the buttons on her back. Once the dress was adjusted into place, she slipped on her shoes and added the proper jewelry. One last check in the mirror and she was ready to go (The Outfit)
Melissa could not remember the last time she had seen Robert Nott. When her grandmother demanded she go on a date soon or she would start choosing dates for her, he was the second person that came to mind. The first was an unlikely event. The mention of a date with a Nott would keep her grandmother and parents appeased for a while, at the very least. From what she remembered, he was handsome and decent company. They both came from old money and dying bloodlines. If it came down to the line, he would be a good match, but that was not a fleeting thought in her mind right now. She just knew that she used to enjoy his company, and had no reason to believe that will have changed. If pure bloods are forced to date and marry for status, they can at least have some enjoyment in it, right?
The owl she had sent to him produced a date set for dinner at the Silver Spoon. Diagon alley was filled with witches and wizards either heading home after Saturday shopping or heading out for evening engagements. The number of blood traitors and half-bloods passing her caused her to quicken her pace toward the restaurant. Upon arrival, she entered through held open doors and allowed the concierge to take her dress coat. She then made her way to the reserved table she hoped Robert would already be sitting at.
