A brief sigh of relief passed her lips at the sight of Robert at the table. There is always a slight fear that she will be stood up for these things, which would be a social catastrophe. It was not because Melissa didn’t see herself worthy to date, she knew her status and appearance were above standard. The fear sat because of past actions that had given her a side reputation of being cold and unforgiving. Of course that behavior was reserved mainly towards blood traitors and mudbloods.
Melissa smiled upon approaching the table and took her seat in the pulled chair. “Good evening, Robert.” She smiled at his comment, not batting an eye to the truth of her being a few minutes late. “I do apologize, I was dealing with a slow house elf this evening. I hope you were not waiting long?”
She took a moment to adjust her posture in the chair while Robert took his seat. “Thank you,” she replied to his compliment. “You look dashing, as always. I am well, just work and family, as usual.” She paused trying to remember the last time her and Robert had a conversation. “I do not believe I’ve talked to you much since you were dorm mates with Scorpius. How have you been coming along?”
