6 April: Later Saturday
[SECURE WARDS TO DEATH EATERS]
I would like to remind everyone that we do not award initiative. This was not what I asked of any of you, and such reckless abandon may cause ill will. Now, each and every one of you is responsible for mitigating the fall out. I expect to hear some creative solutions.

Or you know give me a good excuse.

Incentivized as we are not to speak up, I will do so against my better judgement. Such a show of defiance to our leaders damages plans and does not help the Dark Lord's mission, and it puts as all needlessly at risk.

But how to remedy the harm done? The goal is to convince others that there is no threat, so we can maintain it and bring it back when we are ready.

This happened while students were in Hogsmeade. We can make this a case of a child attempting to fool his classmates, albeit a prank that went wildly wrong.

While I would love for the child to confess that Mad-Eye Moody talked him into it for the purpose of forcing people to maintain vigilance, that might be too baroque a solution.

Along such thoughts, would it not be entirely out of bounds to consider that it was an act from the Order or perhaps an over eager Auror to reinvigorate the charges against us?

I would so like to believe that we display a greater discipline.

It's conceivable to redirect this to a political stunt gone awry. Perhaps Bagnold's detractors trying to make a case for why giving peace a chance is hardly an attitude everyone is prepared to embrace? It did occur essentially on top of that eyesore of a memorial.

They are all just trite stunts at this point. And I am currently more concerned with the potential disobedience.

It might be useful if certain information inside the DMLE was fabricated or a “source close to the investigation” leaked fake information to the Prophet, just to create disinformation at this point

And exactly what sort of information might be leaked?

Disinformation pointing to someone else that has no ties with us would probably be best. Unless of course I needed to fabricate the evidence to "legitimately" point to someone else.

I was in Hogsmeade with other Ministry officials moments after the mark was sighted. Our investigation doesn't have any leads yet. I will keep everyone updated

To what purpose would any of us cast the Mark without instruction? As things stand, it serves us all better to lie low until things progress.

It's an interesting point. Those who cannot handle discipline have for the most part been purged or failed already.

If there is someone misappropriating the Mark, that person needs to be found and dealt with.

Our glorious leader needs to be redirected to searching for external threats, I think...

There is something to be said for clarity of purpose.

I might also have a chalice he is interested in. Two even.

Precisely. And we'd long since left behind signing work that wasn't actually done. All of the schoolchildren are alive and well, as I understand it?

A Mark without a murder doesn't seem like one of us.

Find, or create if need be, some (preferably Mudblood) habitual drunk or user of other intoxicating substances. Middle their mind enough and convince them they did it as a drunken lark. Make sure they’ve conveniently ‘lost’ their wand while intoxicated. Possibly have them attack the DMLE personnel investigating, babbling mad rubbish before letting slip a bragging confession. Potentially rig them to die in custody.

I believe this would be fairly easy for me to accomplish, if it were deemed a useful plan, of course.

I must confess, I am rather fond of dastardly plots. They keep the mind busy.

It is an intriguing option. Perhaps you and Ms. Burke might have more to discuss.
