So, maybe it was jumping the gun to start planning Alice's baby shower as early as they were planning it, but Jellybean thought it was a good idea to start thinking about it now, even though she knew that Dad and Alice didn't know what the baby they were having was yet. JB didn't really care what they were having -- either way she was getting a baby sibling, and Dad had said that whatever it was could learn how to use a slingshot -- but she figured that they could plan the parts that needed to know what the baby was going to be after they found it out. Honestly, JB was hurt about the fact that Archie still loved Veronica, and she had seen those comments that Jughead had made to Fred and to Alice, and had the good sense to steer clear of home, if not for her sanity than for her hearing. She knew that she was too young for Archie, but her crush hadn't seemed entirely fruitless until she'd heard that she was still going to be competing (who was she kidding -- there was no competition, JB was just Jughead's little sister that had saved Archie's life) with the specter or even presence of Veronica. No thank you. Alice had been fine with Betty taking JB to Pops with her (JB had elected to indulge her father and sort-of-stepmother and ask for permission, even though she was going either way), only requesting that the girls bring home something for her to eat. Jellybean felt incredibly grown up, even though she knew that part of the reason she was allowed at Pops was because another version of Dad owned it, and the other reason was because she was with Betty. "August is so far away," she told Betty. "How is it possible that the baby will take that long to grow?" JB did not approve of having to wait for the baby. It was very unfair. "Alice said that she and Daddy might take us to Disneyworld," she informed her. "Before the baby comes. They said I have to go to school." She sighed. |
