NEW SNAPEDOM RECS:

Snupin Fics and Art:
Untitled, Wrapped in Boxer Shorts
Author: snupin_santa [info]dingochow
Word count: 13,952
Rated: Holiday Spice (R)
Warnings: None
Summary: Any castaway risks being caught up in the classic desert island story. Such is the fate of one Severus Snape.

I loved this - loved the tone of voice established for Severus - wry, funny and sardonic, with a well-established sense of irony and a sense of the absurd. And Remus and his tail, the growing UST - it all made for marvelous reading.

The Flight of the Marauder
Word count: 30,361
Author: snupin_santa [info]arionrhod
Rated: Holiday Spice (R)
Warnings: None
Summary: A series of mysterious bank robberies leads Inspector Severus Snape of Scotland Yard into the midst of a band of thieves who are far more than what they appear. As Severus is drawn further into the dark secrets surrounding one of the Empire's most notable Peers - and the biggest proponent of the steam technology which powers it - he discovers himself caught up in a web of murder, lies, deception and greed, and facing an irresistible attraction that might be even more dangerous to his life than the criminals surrounding him.

I don't know why I haven't seen this story recc'd all over the place - it is fantastic - so well-written. The world-building was very convincing and sustained throughout, the suspense was agonizing, Severus was fantastic in his role and really well-characterized and Remus was portrayed so appealingly. I loved this - a truly wonderful read.

Party Spirit
Author: snupin_santa [info]skitty_kat
Rated: Gingerbread and cocoa (PG)
Warnings: None
Summary: What did Severus Snape really think of Slughorn's Christmas party?

Loved this one too - an illustrated poem, revealing Severus' time at Slughorn's Christmas party (from HBP) - with utterly hilarous text and loads of wonderful art. You can't read this and NOT smile - so sweet and snarky.
The whole piece is fantastic, but I especially enjoyed Remus' pounce, Severus' interpretation of the interaction between McLaggen and Potter *snigger* and Snape's lament about Draco's failures.
I adore this Severus.... the nose, the hair, the sidelong glances. Do go and have a look - you'll love it too, I'm sure.

A dream within a dream
Author: snupin_santa [info]sweetmelodykiss
Word count: 7214
Rating: Gingersnaps (PG13)
Warning/s: none
Summary: Severus goes on a journey through a strange land.

This is a beautiful, magical journey, through lands that are all twisted yet make total sense. The strange lands are peopled by the folk tha Severus knows, in strange yet familiar roles. It had a gorgeous fairy-tale quality throughout - even the 'real life' parts. Reading feels like taking a magical journey - and that sense of magic, fable and fairy tale lingers after the story is finished. beautiful!

Snarry fic and art:
Through the veil be drawn
Author: [info]venturous
Word count: 2000
Rating: R
Warning/s: Possible character death
Summary: After the battle for Hogwarts, Harry seems far, far away.

A combination of writing and art, Through the Veil has a dreamy quality, as though Harry's removal from the world is mirrored in the reader's removal. The story is told from Hermione's perspective, and her concern and caring ground that dreaminess.

The art and the writing compliment each other perfectly - either alone could tell the story, but combined together the art and writing enrich the feelings evoked. An incredibly compelling and beautiful work.

This is your truth
Author: [info]curia_regis
Word count: 350
Rating: PG
Summary: Once upon a time, Severus Snape married Harry Potter. That's the truth.

Another compelling and evocative work, this lovely little snarry ficlet is written as a fairy tale, with a magical intensity in the narrative tone. A complete story in only 350 words, this is a rare delight.

Snape/Filch:
The Caretaker
Author: to be revealed at [info]snapelyholidays
Word count: ~3,730
Rating: R
Warnings: Masturbation, Voyeurism, Random Drunkenness, Innuendo, A Healthy Imagination]
Summary: "The world, as Argus Filch saw it, could be divided into two distinct groups: those who existed to cause him trouble and those who didn't."

A satisfying portrait of Filch, and how he comes to regard Severus, first as one of those pesky students, then as a not-quite-as-pesky-as-most student and finally as an adult. Despite the fact that the story opens during the years Severus is a student, there's no underage and Filch has no sexual longings for Severus while he is a student.
A great deal of emotional territory is covered in this story, despite the overall word count and the unsentimental tone. This story was quite a surprise to me - I wasn't expecting to enjoy it nearly as much as I did. So, even if the pairing doesn't do it for you, do please go and give this one a chance.
