Snarry-A-Thon: ART: My Fair Potions Master
Title: My Fair Potions Master
Artist: [info]cnary_crem_dght
Rating: G
Media: Photoshop
Warnings: none (shock!)
Prompt: 119. My Fair Lady a la Harry Potter
Summary: Professor Potter and Auror Weasley make a bet to see if Professor Potter can redeem Severus Snape's name.
A/N: I love the movie My Fair Lady and this is taken from the very beginning, where Higgins (or Harry in this case) meets a flower girl (potions seller) in the street. :)

oh lovely "mystery" artist.
I really love the clothing on all 3 of them. Harry's pocket square is love. Snape's expression is very emotional.

I LOVE YOUR WORK! (even though I have no idea *cough* who you are.) Snape's expression is just...I actually don't have the words...and his two-tone hair. And Harry in his little suit (his handkerchief!) managing to look somehow professorial, as well as simultaneously kind and smug. As always, I love your use of color. There's arty details I don't know the words for, but I like them very much.

OMG, it's amazing! I love your style (even if it doesn't leave much for guessing, giving you away quite obviously *gggggg*), your lines, your colours. I was somewhat surprised by the roles but it really makes sense, thinking about it. I like Snape's and Harry's expressions best. Beautifully done.

Ooh, "mystery" artist, this is so gorgeous and fun! Why hasn't this fic been written?!!!

I love the coloring and especially the composition - it's like the curtain opening on the play. Snape's expression seems to be a combination of bitterness and shy hope, absolutely perfect for the theme, while Harry looks every bit the indulged, arrogant young son of James that canon Snape mistook him for!

While Ron looks every bit the follower - yet also open to the possibilities. His eyes seem to calmly take in the street seller of potions, even as he stands behind Harry, while Harry condescendingly lectures the poor blighter. Ron's telling of this story might be the most interesting. I can already hear the voice of his fiancee, the honorable Miss Granger, calling his attention to how it's social injustice that has forced Snape into selling himself his potions on the street, not the personal flaws that Harry blames...

Oh that's just WONDERFUL! Harry and Ron both look so dapper. And poor Severus looks a bit down. I absolutely love the coloring-Severus's greying hair. Great job.

Wonderful depiction of the movie. Poor Snape looks so depressed but I detect a glint in his squinting eye. Harry and Ron are super. Very well done. cb

made of love, this! Harry as the Professor, whahaha!

Severus is so sweet, I love his streaky hair. The night-time atmosphere of this is great, too.

Great job. I like Ron and Harry's clothes (the smart suits under the cloaks to give them the air of refinery works well). Snape's really ugly here, so it fits into the challenge Harry will have.

Neat! Looking at the prompt, I totally thought the "lady" should be Harry...so this is interesting. And, it totally calls for another picture - the result after the transformation. :-) I am so interested in how you would do him there! Very nice work.

Incredibly poignant pic! It has a little of the patronizing quality of the original, with Harry declaring how he can 'redeem' the poor potions seller, but there is an element of pathos in how far Severus has fallen from his canon role. Ron actually looks like he is the more sympathetic of the boys here.

The colors are intense, and the lines and shading (particularly that of the faces) are concise, but very effective in delineating attitude. Severus' rendering is especially lustrous: rich, deep, and vivid.

I really like this piece. When I read the prompt, I assumed that Harry would be Eliza. But it works so well the other way. I guess I was focusing on age and not the other personality characteristics of the characters. Great Job!!

I love this! Your art always conveys feelings and emotions in a way that is deeply engaging, and this picture is no exception. Even the rich, strong and daring colours seem to have a part to play. I’m particularly fond of the humorous effect of the pastel-coloured suits Harry and Ron are wearing.

Admittedly, “My Fair Lady” doesn’t belong to my favourites, and I was slightly squicked by the summary. So seeing smug-faced Harry’s condescending attitude (the hand) and pompousness (the snobbish suit) made me feel sorry for Severus until I noticed that his slumped shoulders and huddled stance could be misleading, what with the positively murderous glare he gives Harry. I’m sure Ron understands the danger and is secretly as amused as I am, thinking about his unsuspecting friend and what he’s in for. *g* I’d love to see Harry after he tries to “redeem” Severus. But whatever the interpretation, this clearly is the beginning of beautiful Snarry.

Gorgeous work.
