Maybe He's Born With It by atypicalsnowman
Title: Maybe He's Born With It
Author: atypicalsnowman
Pairing: Snarry, of course
Rating: PG
Word Count: 500
Warnings: Crack?
Summary: Harry's glad Severus has had time to rest for their date.
A/N: I've broken my own rule. No betas were harmed during the making of this crack, so all mistakes are my own. Thanks to veridari for the hand holding. *kisses* This is just something that distracted me in the film, and I just had to bring it up here. *smirk*
Harry wiped sweaty palms on his trousers before he knocked on the door to Snape's dungeon quarters. The door opened for him automatically, and he peaked his head inside with extreme caution.
"Er...Sn—Severus?"
"In the bedroom. I'll be out in a moment, Harry. Make yourself comfortable."
"All right, then," he said, then muttered, "comfortable while waiting for a date with the most high maintenance man on the planet? Yes, very comfortable."
Harry felt like he'd been waiting for Severus for ages. Something had changed for Harry after the Battle of Hogwarts. It had been torture while he waited to see whether Severus would survive Nagini's bite, and Harry had been beyond relieved when Snape had finally woken up.
Harry had spent hours in the infirmary every day, and knew he'd fallen completely in love with Snape. And weeks later, when Harry's request for a real date had been accepted, Harry had been beside himself with happiness.
Then terror.
"So where will you be taking me this evening, Harry?" Severus asked from the bedroom.
"Um," Harry said, running a hand through his hair, his nerves on end, "depends on what you're feeling up to. We could do a few things. How are you feeling?"
It had only been yesterday that Severus was released from the infirmary, and he'd looked horrible the last time he'd up been and around. When Harry had confronted him in the Great Hall he recalled Severus having the most awful black shadow all around his eyes. Of course after the year Severus had it made sense that he'd be exhausted.
Well, now that he was better rested Harry was sure he'd look and feel much better.
"What exactly are you doing in there?"
"It's been...years since I've been able to enjoy an evening with a man," Severus said as he came out of the room, putting on a black cloak over his robes. "I simply needed a little more time to prepare myself."
"Well, you look..." Harry drifted off as he took in how good Severus looked in his robes, how they tapered to his body so well. His hair looked clean and his face...
"Are you— Um, are you wearing eyeshadow?"
One perfect eyebrow (perhaps too perfect, Harry thought) rose at the question. "Yes. I would think it was obvious."
"Um, why? Not that it doesn't look great! Cause it does."
"What do you mean why? I have always worn eyeshadow, even as a professor."
"You—you have?"
"Yes! Did you think all that black around my eye was just me?"
"Um..."
"You did!"
"Well, it was understandable. You must have been tired all the time."
"Not that tired!"
Harry winced. "Well, you look great now. Really, I like it."
"Hmph."
And Harry did like it. It made Severus eyes look even more seductive and brought a beautiful shadow to his face. He looked exotic, and Harry was even more proud to have him on his arm.
"Er, is that black eyeshadow or...purple?"
Severus scoffed. "I was a spy, Potter. I know how to blend."
