Back in the Saddle

Preview for next week's Dark Avengers #8, the penultimate issue of the "Utopia" crossover.

In the most recent issue of Uncanny X-Men, the depowered-by-Wanda Dani Moonstar was sent to Las Vegas by Cyclops.

As readers of Thor know, that's where Hela was last seen lounging around wearing next to nothing.  In some inter-title continuity, that's where she still is.



Looks like she's going to be a Valkyrie (or whatever; can Hela create Valkyries, or should that be Odin's job?) again.

I'm iffy on whether the cowboy hat is a good fashion choice or not.

MU-Hela is beautiful all-over so long as she keeps her fancy hat on (hence, the easiest way to get her angry is to knock it off).

Yay. Glad she's getting her Valkyrie powesr back. If they insist on sticking with decimation, it's the least they could do.

The art in the preview is blah too.  Also, I have no idea what is going on there, but that is probably just my not being fully caught up.

Most of them are hanging out in San Francisco and having a good time, but Norman and co. are totally trying to kill their buzz, so Cyclops is planning to strike back.

Matt Fraction established in The Order that the mayor of San Francisco has been looking for local superheroes, ever since the fifty-state initiative decided to headquarter the California team in LA.

Post-"Messiah Complex," the X-Men broke up for a while, and Cyclops and Emma wound up helping with a mutant problem in San Francisco. The mayor got in touch with them afterwards and offered them sponsorship, and thus the X-Men became the official superhero team/mutant liasons of the city of San Francisco.

Well, Hela keeps her strength and beauty if she has some part of her robe/cape on her... I guess she's using it as a blanket to lounge in seductive poses... not that I mi- what are we talking about?

And it's not a vest. It's a crop top. I've been staring at them for the last 30 minutes doing hard research on these things.

And having a Valkyrie fight a Greek War God should be interesting.

Neither, according to the X-Men/New Mutants in Asgard story, it was the winged horse she rescued from a swamp which, as one of the steed of the Valkyrior, selected her to be a Valkyrie. Hela had no part in the choice.
