Supergirl/Robin preview at the source
Superman wants them to date, its painfully apparant. He wants Bruce as family.

why does the menu appear to have a picture of a dinosaur?
Stegosaurus brisket is pretty big in Gotham.
Swamp gator burgers, actually.
you would be amazed at how many times Bruce had to eat there before he won the big dino in the cave.
Love the art and can't want for the issues!
I'm kind of unsure how this works. When Linda got her identity, didn't they talk in the same issue about how Bruce was gone?
You are correct but S/B ignores cntinuity and it hasn't really been canon after the Supergirl arc really.
Didn't the missile penguins appear in Tiny Titans at some point? Tiny Titans being one of Robin's prolonged, feverish dreams would explain a lot.
Yes they did, though they debuted in the "Batman Returns" movie.

This is now true in my head.
Tiny Titans being one of Robin's prolonged, feverish dreams would explain a lot.
Oh god, that would be hilarious.
Batman should NEVER tell a Robin to "show someone the ropes", it gets confusing for them... I'd have thought Kara was straightforward after Tim had handled Bart for so long. That said, I DO love Tim's expression as she zips back after touring the cave.
hm... does someone else join them later? It's kinda weird that they're sitting next to each other instead of across from each other unless someone else is joining them.
Yay! This looks fun. I love Albuquerque's work.
And I love Superman/Batman for remaining a fun and happy comic.

Wait, they both seem happy and well adjusted. Is this old?
I always got the feeling that Kara mildly annoyed Tim, at least it seemed that way to me in Supergirl's comic (although the one with the Phantoms was a dream-hallucination it was still how she perceived him) and now in the flashback story it's like he doesn't want to deal with her.
Maybe it's just that he doesn't like her messing with the Bat-equipment, like in Supergirl #14 where he catches her fooling around with the Bat-Computer (which BTW Alfred didn't seem to mind her messing with in the Infinite Christmas/Holiday special).
That said I kind of like them hanging out like this, wouldn't mind Tim and Kara having a bro and sis relationship (but the way things are in the Bat and Super comics I highly doubt that will happen soon).
Always nice to see these two interacting.
Anyone happen to know why they didn't use Supergirl in the original Teen Titans? It seems like it would have been far more logical than dragging Wonder Girl in ...
The last few comments reminded me that, in the Christmas episode of Justice League, there was a line about Kara spending Christmas skiing with Barbara. I would have loved to see that (even if it can't really happen outside of the DCAU :( )

The first Batman image is HORRIFYING. I didn't think mouths worked that way...
Otherwise the art looks good. Timmy is so cute.
Team-ups with the Bat/Supes families are always fun. Just watched last night the DCAU episode where Robin teamed up with Supes. Hilarious! Gonna buy this when it comes out. Hee hee hee.

Rafael draws the best Tim. Hands down. Same with Supergirl here (though, she kinda looks like Stephanie from the Robin/Spoiler special) He miraculously GETS the concept of age when it comes to teenagers having to look different than adults in comics and renders body types appropriately. Both look athletic without Tim looking like a meathead (and more like the geeky WASP that he is) and Supergirl wearing THAT belly shirt and not looking like her top's gonna pop off and coming across as adorable if not somewhat innocent.
I bet he'd draw a rad Red Robin and do that damn costume some justice. I always notice the little individual touches he gives people's costumes.
PAY ATTENTION TO ALBUQUERQUE OTHER DC ARTISTS - THIS IS HOW ITS DONE
I'm always glad to see Tim look like Tim, not some arbitrary six-foot, half-ton chunk of steroid-fuelled muscle.
On the other hand, together with his over-the-top jerkish behaviour, the different stature makes a recent replacement via alien cabbage plausible, and I CRAVE that retcon.
All right, first off, Robin dreaming about the climax of 'Batman Returns' is just funny. Second, is this set in the past or the present? 'Cause if it's the present, then YAAAAY! We're going to have happy, normal, non-homicidal Timmy back!
Please don't flame me! But!
I don't like Albuquerque's art here. I loved him drawing Blue Beetle but his faces are weird. The first panel here is great but the rest just looks.. really off. Which for some reason I liked in BB but can't stand here.
Tell me I'm not the only one?
Oh my god, a non-angsty Tim? A joking, HAPPY, Tim? A Kara that doesn't seem to have jailbait written all over her nubile frame? Albuquerque!?!?!?!
I am sold.
Superman wants them to date, its painfully apparant. He wants Bruce as family.
Well, he tried with Kon/Cassandra, but Batman was having none of that. So now he's moved on to the next possible pairing. |
