Is the Hood's magic powered by his douchebaggery? A question for the ages.

...

I may just be a tremendously vindictive human being, but I'd be utilizing a coathanger if put in that position. (Assuming I had decided on aborting the skrullkittens)

Just to fuck Norman over.

I foresee Tigra taking out Menace and her baby, just to spite Norman.

I wouldn't say this is bad art exactly, a bit wonky in places
but I guess I just like the gritty cartoony look

I'd buy that if superhero books weren't so hell-bent on being "realistic" and "relevant". It just becomes jarring to see people talk government policy with a rubber-face.

Eh. The eeeeevil bad guy wanting to abort her fetus is more likely to make her keep it out of spite. But lets be serious. He has plenty of dead bodies. For experiments, he doesn't need a dead fetus, he needs a live carcass to show how it reacts.

I take it all this takes place before this week's New Avengers, which ends with the Hood in no position to make threats. (More of a hint than a spoiler, I believe.)

The Hood really annoys me (as villains are supposed to do) since he sees himself as better than the Kingpin since he can lead from the front, or whatever. DAREDEVIL #300 revealed Wilson Fisk got into crime and started killing people (accidentally) at a very young age.

References War Machine #8..aren't we only on #7 so far? Not sure, but I have been enjoying that series. It's 100% what it's supposed to be - over the top violence in an extremely graphic manner. You know, like a WAR MACHINE.

Sounds like Norman's really beginning to have the screws coming loose. How long can this Dark Avengers thing last? He's beginning to make the Joker look sane.

I'm reminded of a line from Dallas where Bobby is talking to JR. It went something like;

"You know JR, every time I think you've sunk as low as it's possible for a human being to go, you astound me by digging down to a whole NEW low."

Man, I've got to say, I really don't like the art.

The pencils I don't have so much of a problem with; although I'm not huge on the style, I bet this would look great in black and white. But the combination of pencil shading and computer colouring is really off-putting.

Tigra was my favorite character.

But I just don't even care any more. She died after her mini. That Tigra's having skrull babies because she's been a skrull all this time.

So this is only five weeks after the invasion. The current president was sworn in after the invasion when Normie "saved the day."

Honestly not caring about Tigra since she betrayed the rebels in the Civil War.

I think she'll slip away and want to abort but won't. The offspring and Steve child by Sharon. (What, you think they told the TRUTH about her losing the kid?)

And this art REALLY sucks.

Oh, it is going to be SWEET when Osborn gets his inevitable beatdown after this whole 'Dark Avengers' crap is finally done with. 'Cause I really, REALLY hate him now. 'In the interest of national security', my ass - in the interest of YOURSELF, you mean. If Tigra doesn't escape his clutches and enact some sort of poetic vengeance upon him, I will be severely disgruntled.

She'll have to get in line, considering Osborn's purpose in this crossover seems to be "give every goddamn person with a costume a reason to want my stripey head on a platter."

Yeah, but forcing a woman to either abort her child or hand it over for study after birth is just asking for serious trouble. That motherly instinct is NOT something you want to have turned against you. Don't mess with Mama Bear - or, in this case, Mama Tiger.

Eh. I don't have much sympathy for Tigra. She was enthusiastic about the whole scheme of registration and service and control back when it was to her benefit. Now that it suddenly applies to *her*, she's all upset. Yet no one in all of Dark Reign has said "hmm. I guess I was wrong to fuck people over and embrace destruction of civil rights." They are all just "dammit, I want to be back on top! It's not fair that shit is happening to *me*, I want to go back to doing it to other people.

My guess is that this is the moment where Tigra, anyway, really starts to question her former beliefs. Because, let's face it, having something bad happen to you or to someone you love generally is one of the strongest arguments. Like, 'I stuck with them through thick and thin - I compromised my morals for the cause, because I thought it was worth it, that the benefits were greater than the disadvantages - and now the system wants to dissect my baby? I've sacrificed so much for them already, and now they're hiring thugs and supervillains to run the system and dissect my baby? *&^% them, then! Captain America was right!'
And that, I think, may actually be the core of the matter - Captain America was right. See, all of this has to do with fallout from 'Civil War', right? And in Civil War, there were two leaders - Iron Man for the Pro-Regs, and Captain America for the Antis. Now, during that storyline, Cap had a fair amount of followers from the get-go, and more came over to his side, because he's CAPTAIN AMERICA, dammit. Sure, he eventually surrendered, but it wasn't so much that he gave up his position on things - he was more like 'this battle is going to wreck my country, so I'll back down for the moment'. But then he died, and only one of the two leaders was left - Iron Man. This left the Anti side leaderless, and the only strong voice out there was Tony's. And it's stayed that way - even Osborn is now dubbing himself 'Iron Patriot', and wearing Tony's hand-me-downs that he wore for the Fourth of July parade. So with the only strong voices being those on the Pro-Reg side, naturally it becomes the officially prevailing opinion, and those heroes who don't want to be hunted down by the government, or who were on Tony's side anyway, tend to stay in line. Even those who are not wild about the current system aren't doing much about it, because who else do they join when the opposing side has just kinda broken up? (The Avengers are a rebel group of sorts, I suppose, but even they don't seem to be doing much directly against Osborn and Tony - they're just doing their thing and avoiding official forces.)
However, there's a twist to this - Captain America is coming back. My guess is that, when he comes back and seen what a shambles the MU has become in his absence, he'll rally the Antis to his side again, along with some fresh recruits (presumably including Tigra), and we'll finally have this thing out properly once and for all.

People have problems with the government taking children away from the parents who beat or neglect them.  Osborn would not win that fight.

Of course, Marvel public is the Marvel public.
