Only read Identity Crisis if you enjoy having your heart stomped on. The scene where Jack Drake gets shot while he's on the OraCom with Tim, knowing he's about to die is the most wrenching scene I've read in DC. Seeing Ollie hug Connor afterward feels like rubbing salt on the wound.
It's true that the whole premise of Identity Crisis is based on a completely ridiculous retcon that fucked contiuity sideways. It's also true that it was an arc where well-loved characters inexplicably got "fridged" to the detriment of future stories. But damn if that wasn't some great story-telling and art. It would have been epic if it had been out-of-continuity.
