And that's so unhealthy give that, imo, Babs is the one showing more care here. Some people might read it as "she's trying to change Cass and make her somebody she isn't/make her what Babs thinks is normal" but really I think she was just pushing her to develop parts of herself that were important and that she really did need. Interestingly, thinking about it now I realize that what it sort of reminds me of is someone dealing with a person who's disabled in some way, and pushing them to be able to be as capable as possible instead of settling on a smaller niche where they feel comfortable, if that makes sense. And I can see that being all the more clear to Babs of all people, that maybe she'd look at this girl and say hey, you've done *great* in surviving without the skills that your upbringing kept you from developing. But don't pretend that other skills won't help you just because they don't come easily. She doesn't want her to have just one area of life where she's functioning well.
