THE JLA: Just Little Americans

Here's something you don't see everyday...
A Christmas one-shot from 1984 featuring some characters you've never seen before, and haven't seen since. And from a hundred page DC digest*, as well....
*The digest series was usually always reprint material*

That is as much of a set-up for the plot as I can provide you. Some sentient toys team up with the school bully in an attempt to destroy Xmas. Not the most original plot, mind you, but hey, these comics are for kids.

You missed it, but the fairy spirit of Xmas grants these tykes the powers of the Justice League so that they can save Xmas.

After their battle with Bad Mister Frosty™, the li'l leaguers get split up after following their nemesis thru a wormhole....

After FlashKid's sidetrip, we get to SuperKid's adventure....

YAY! Superkid saves the day!
Next up is BatGuy and Kid Robin (yeah, I know, but those are the names they really gave these characters).

So what has WonderTot been up to all this time? Not much...

*awwww..* But she catches her stride soon enough...

Oh, well. You still get an "A" for effort. But don't worry, there is no "I" in team...

Now that the Li'l Leaguers have prevailed, what horrible fate awaits our evildoers?

A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
Move along now, there's nothing more to see here....

Of *course* Wonder Tot ends up in bondage. Some things are consistent across all universes. ;-)

But seriously, the artwork on this is really cute. Do you know who drew it?

Cool, thanks! I'm not familiar with the name, I'll have to poke around and see if I can find out more about him. Google isn't turning up much...

"The strength of an ox and the brains to match. . . his first idea in a year. . ." Whoever wrote this is a real underminer.

"Even a kid knows that problems are solved by talking - not fighting!"

Uh, no. No they really don't. In fact, I'd argue that a lot of wars have started because their instigators didn't grow up.

"The only ones that profit from a war - are the ones who rent the battle fields!"
God-damn war-profiteers, renting out their battlefields to any army willing to cough up the cash!
And you really have to feel for those poor companies that have to make all the armor and munitions, and get nothing in return.

Poor little Wonder-tot gets really shafted here, doesn't she? I mean, at least the Bat-kids got to bust up some random color heist, or something.

And you missed the ending, where the Super Jrs. take Wallace to their Playtower - where Zatan-tot wipes his memories! Justice has been served!

The insanely cherubic figures in the pic above the cut are almost terrifying, but are saved by the adorable napping little Robin.

The part of Kid-Robin's hair will tonight be played by Prince Valiant's "do".

And I haven't decided if L'il Batman's comment to Kid Robin "Sorry for all the times I bullied you" is either creepy, or just prophetic,

I'm disturbed and yet in love.
And sometimes Flash-kid has the poutiest of pouty lips while no one else has any at all.

Yay Weather Wizard!

Cute Baby Robin and Batman ( and there's a phrase I never thought I'd use).
