You know, between all the stuff that went on Omega Men, this and all the other stuff the Vega system must be the most effed up place in the whole DCU. The place makes Apokolips seem jolly.

Holy shit ... this makes perfect sense.

Of COURSE the Orange Lantern Corps would be a ONE-man corps, because he wouldn't want to SHARE it with anyone else.

BRILLIANT. :)

My only regret is that, if we can have Ruffles the Rage-Kitty, then Agent Orange SHOULD have been an anthropomorphic DUCK.

More to the point, a talking duck who speaks in a SCOTTISH accent, and wears SPATS.

COME ON! SCROOGE MCDUCK AS THE ORANGE LANTERN - YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO SEE THIS, BITCHES.

That's what I've been SAYING! Scrooge, Gollum, and the FINDING NEMO seagulls! I need an icon of them all as Orange Lanterns!

Actually, even better ...

Scrooge as a Green Lantern (yes, he's greedy as hell, but he also has hellacious willpower) versus Flintheart Glomgold as an Orange Lantern.

THEY WOULD TOTALLY BE LIKE HAL AND SINESTRO.

(Although imagining the Finding Nemo seagulls all wielding Orange Power Rings and saying, "MINE! MINE! MINE!" as they fly into battle? Is AWESOME.)

I wouldn't even want to try Gollum, but the seagulls actually work pretty well, y'kin bang out a halfway decent 100x100 manip in fifteen minutes or so.

THAT makes sense, finally. I've been trying to piece together the different info we've received about the Orange Lantern Corps: some saying that it's a one man corps, others previewing the designs for the many Orange Lanterns. Them all being constructs is brilliant!

I'm excited to see the other colors! Indigo especially, although I'm sure it's just going to be cryptic and vague.

Feh. Sounds mildly interesting, though it sucks that we lost the Controllers to boost this one guy.

I think you're conflating the few Controllers who went to Vega with the entire race.

I'm pretty sure that they were. They went into the cave with the intent to grab the Orange Light and prior to their entry, they were discussing how they were on the edge of extinction. Plus, I don't see them being connected with any of the other Corps :(

Shame, they were cool. These guys kept Sun-Eaters as toys!

I do like that the Orange Lantern Corps is literally identity theft.

Although now I'm sort of curious if he has set up some version of a "Nigerian email" scam. Actually, that might be a clever way for him to "recruit" new Lanterns.

Hmm.. presumably this would make Agent Orange damn near invinincble. He can carry his infinite power supply with him and might not even have to leave the comfort and security of his own home to wage intergalactic war.
Plus, not being limited by willpower, he can always instantly create a new batch of flunkies, whenever his "Corps" gets destroyed.

I feel kinda cheated of so many cool characters.

Also, I have to say I had an actual orange lantern when I was a kid. But it plugged in and lit up with a normal bulb - no ring, no greed.

It does make sense that Larfleeze would be the only one. I do like the "identity theft" aspect of the avatars, even though I'm a little bummed that those creatures won't be fleshed out like Philip Tan implied when he posted OL sketches at Newsarama.

Y'know, it occurs to me that the seven color corps can be mapped the D&D alignment system:

Red: Chaotic Evil
Orange: Neutral Evil
Yellow: Lawful Evil
Green: Lawful Neutral (the Guardians, at least, if not individual GLs)
Blue: Lawful Good
Indigo: Neutral Good
Violet: Chaotic Good

I was thinking the same thing just the other day!

Of course, that makes the Black Lanterns Chaotic Neutral, which doesn't exactly fit.
