And that's the thing: technically, compassion, empathy and peace are her thing as much as truth & justice are Kal's. If she was a Lantern she'd be indigo. But then you read something like this and she sounds so deaf to others and so like the sort of pompous ass everyone would love to see knocked off their perch.
And she is the one who avenged Ted's death. That's why the fact she seems so emotionally dumb here is strange. But that's really the shortcoming of the writer. Remember Jurgens' story about the murder of Cat Grant's kid? Remember her little speech at the end? He doesn't quite get emotions, at least not those of women, I think.
