[As soon as the last of the blanks are herded into the appropriate area--]

--The scenery around them began to shrivel and crumple. The cardboard animals fell flat and folded into themselves, and soon, the arena looked exactly as it did before, decorated by sparse rock and debris.

Any of the wayward blanks who scampered around in their temporary bodies found themselves as cardboard too, and their original vessels started to repair themselves. The innocents that fell for no good reason also began to awaken.

As for the Judge, she closed her book, though not when the blanks were looking of course. No matter how many times she read that story, the ending left a bitter taste in her mouth. "Perhaps it's best to stick to short works for a while!" she thought out loud.

Before the throne, sat six sets of memories. Also, 16 portions of delicious roast lamb.
