auditions; open to all
WHO: Ren Solitaire (and the auditioning - open)
WHEN: Saturday morning, October 20
WHERE: Secondhand books
WHAT: Auditions for the Glass Menagerie
WARNINGS: None at the moment, will update if necessary.
A sign on the counter of Secondhand Books directed actor hopefuls to the backroom of the bookstore. Empty, except for a row of folding chairs lined up against a wall, and a folding table with a single chair, the room is not large, but has space for someone to speak and to move at least a bit.
Ren Solitaire sits at the table, greeting each person who comes into the room, providing them with basic information about the play, and some information about how things will proceed. Each person will have the opportunity to do any prepared reading. If they don't have a prepared monologue, there is a male monologue and female monologue from the play that they can read from. After this, they may be asked to read some scenes with another person.
There are four roles to be cast, two leads - one male, one female - one supporting female, and one featured male. Ren will be attempting to cast them all from the group who shows up.
After they read, he'll let them know that he will be making decisions in the next week or so, they will be reminded of the dates of the performances (Nov. 30 - Dec. 2), and expectations of rehearsals (5 nights a week until performance) And he will thank them for coming. On their way out, they'll have the ability to note if they would be interested in assisting in a non-acting capacity, and if so, what capacity.
