kicking around the idea of a noncommittal man, ex-military, doesn't have a lot of time or patience for being clung on but genuinely cares about her even if he won't date her in the traditional sense. This can feel like a booty call or it could be that they knew one another growing up but ended up growing apart when he joined the armed services.
