Define "crack!fic" without a drug reference... [Sep. 20th, 2007|04:20 pm]

On my own IJ I was pondering what defines "crack!fic" since it's a term that I'm relatively unfamiliar with. I know that horribly outlandish fics are crack!fics but aside from that I'm kinda lost. I also want to document and tally how many of each type of fic I read along with links and titles/authors so I can avoid re-reading a bad!fic unless I want to. So far my categories are: bad!fic, crack!fic, mpreg (that is at ZERO and will be staying as such) and each season timeline.

I'm wondering about "Medium Security" written by Gaedhal after reading it for the seventh or eighth time and realizing that unlike a lot of fics that I can just shove under a category according to timeline I can't do that with this fic. [info]happier_bunny poked me after I had mentioned I should ask here. So I am. :)

The summary as posted on Gaedhal's website and BJfic.net is: Brian Kinney, serving a sentence of 20 years to life, meets a new inmate. Stanton Correctional Facility for Men in Pennsylvania, 1978.

The real question is: Judging by the summary, or if you've read it previously, would you categorize this as crack!fic or something else?
