Claire still could not believe that she was stuck here. She missed her dad so much, and her mom, and even Lyle. She was still going by Claire Butler, just in case the Company was after her here too. She was living pretty okay… She wanted to go home more than anything, but at least she was eating and being taken care of. She didn’t really want help from Wolfram and Hart, they reminded her too much of the Company, and she would never trust them.
She was just out for a walk when she saw a familiar blonde across the street. Claire could already feel the anger boiling up inside her. Elle was watching her again? That meant that the Company was here. It had to. Why else would Elle be here? Claire was going to teach that stupid bitch a lesson, once and for all. It wasn’t really like Elle could even hurt her, so what did she have to lose.
She walked up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder, and as soon as Elle turned around, Claire punched her in the face.
Elle hit the ground pretty hard. She didn’t expect that, so Claire had caught her off guard. She looked at her stunned, holding her nose. “What the hell, Claire?” she asked. She hadn’t even known the girl was here. She didn’t think the little blonde goody two shoes even had it in her.
“Stop spying on me.” Claire demanded, ready to hit her again.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Elle asked her, getting to her feet. She really didn’t like this city. “I didn’t even know you were here, so don’t flatter yourself.” She dusted herself off, that was just rude. She really should fry her and teach her a lesson.
“Don’t play innocent Elle, I know your father sent you.” Claire told her, circling the other girl. “The Company is going down.”
“And who is gonna bring it down, huh?” Elle asked, amused. “A pipsqueak like you? Let me tell you something Clairebear, my father did not send me. I ended up here. I’m guessing the same as you…so I wouldn’t be all smug and thinking I’m spying on you. Quite frankly, I don’t find you as interesting as my father does, no matter what you can do.” She told her, shaking her head a little.
