WHO: Jaina Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi (brief mention of Cordelia Chase)
WHAT: A discussion of... things.
WHEN: Late afternoon
WHERE: The Hyperion Hotel
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
Well, she'd finally done it. After much internal debate, Jaina had at long last gone to the movie theater and seen the holo that told the final chapter of how her grandfather had gone from Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader. She hadn't been certain it was a wise move to make but, ultimately, curiosity had gotten the better of her. There were questions she wanted answered and had assumed the film would help put some of them to rest. Which, it did.
It also, however, created a lot more that she hadn't previously considered.
After the film she had wandered the streets for a few hours, simply allowing her mind to drift over the things she'd witnessed. She knew very little about that time period, save for what Uncle Luke had discovered and taught to her and others. And yet even now that she'd seen it played out in front of her very eyes she still felt somewhat confused. Why, exactly, had the council opted to turn such a blind eye to the darkness that was clearly beginning to plague Anakin? Why hadn't Obi-Wan noticed it or, if he had, not taken some action to try and prevent it? Had no one seen the signs, or had they simply opted to ignore them in the hopes that the Force would intervene? It all made very little sense to her.
Then there were the other questions, ones that weren't so personal in nature. Namely, the Jedi Council itself. She had never before in her life considered half of the rules and laws they'd enforced so strictly. The Council of her time - headed by her own uncle no less - wasn't nearly that bad. And they were the ones who had ordered she destroy her own twin!
Pulling herself from her musings, Jaina realized she needed some answers. Or at the very least needed to pose her questions to someone who might have some answers. Briefly she thought of her grandfather but quickly opted against the idea. Not only was he not the right person to approach about some of her inquiries since they were about others thoughts in regards to his actions and behavior at the time, but he and her grandmother deserved some time alone without her constantly bombarding their lives.
Which left Jaina with very few options, really. Threepio'd had his memory wiped, Artoo she could only understand if he was on the message boards using binary. That left just two Jedi who might be able to help. She wasn't sure if either would be willing, but she did know where they were likely staying. And fortunately for her, one of them she'd already met before in person.
Allowing her feet to lead her to Obi-Wan Kenobi, she found herself sure enough at the Hyperion. She was granted entrance by the woman named Cordelia - she remembered that much from their meetings previously - and was pointed in the direction of his room. His Force presence grew stronger as she climbed the stairs and made her way down the hallway until, at long last, she was standing outside his door.
Drawing in a calming breath, she exhaled slowly and briefly closed her eyes. Force, I hope I'm not making a mistake by coming to him like this. The errant thought was dispelled and she re-opened her eyes and knocked upon his door.
