Dear Penelope,

I know I am perhaps the last person you might wish to hear from, but I felt compelled to contact you after my meeting yesterday with Lavender Brown. She and I spoke with regards to the nightmares that have been plaguing us, and I wish to offer my sincerest apologies that they are disturbing your sleep. You were correct in identifying the anonymous entry as my own, and I tried to help Miss Brown to the best of my abilities, though I fear I had no real answers to give her.

Should you wish to discuss it further, or simply wish to speak with an old friend who is terribly regretful for his part in past events, my door is always open.
