Characters: Tony, Betty and Hulk
Setting: Bruce's labs and usual haunts
Content: Just some casual, fun Hulk wrestling
Summary: Tony goes in search of Bruce, only to find out he's a lot harder to reach these days.
The upper decks were freezing, even regulated to JARVIS' best ability to the rest of Tony's quarters, making him rock from foot to foot in an effort to stave off the numbing of his toes as he stood with his nose pressed against the window. A natural side effect of the otherwise consuming effort of the Sphere to control the massive and constantly roiling energy of the sun at its core and keep the closest levels to the surface moderate and consistent. It was beautiful out there in the twinkling galaxy, but Tony wasn't watching the stars, searching instead for one heavenly body that usually didn't stray too far. Lady seemed to know where Tony was at all times, whether he was right here in the penthouse or 10,000 miles away at the ShinNihon border observation deck, and was a hard one to miss. Still, Tony was left shifting on cold toes, and even gave an experimental tap to the glass, singing, "But where do you go to, my lovely...hmm hm hmmmm...I want to look inside your head, yes I do..." There she was. Though he wasn't sure if she knew what it meant or even if she actually saw him in there, Tony grinned and gave her a wave as she came gracefully swimming across the window. How did she do that? Did she look bigger than the last time Tony stood here? What was she eating? Did she eat? There wasn't much about Lady that made sense yet, but she wasn't going away, and it was clear to Tony that something was going to have to be done soon. She couldn't just stay out there, where anyone could get to her; she might have been massive, but she was clearly a pacifist. "Where'd you get off to, kiddo?" Tony asked quietly, giving the glass another tap. "What do you say we start getting some answers about you, huh? Think we should ask Steve? Nah." Steve wouldn't mind. Not if Tony asked a friend.
Lady tried to slowly swim after Tony as he turned to saunter away (already asking JARVIS to cue up those images they had of the orphan alien to send along to Bruce) and gently bumped her nose into the glass, leaving a big, heart-shaped smear. "Where is he, anyway?" Tony was asking, helmet already forming over his head to display the localized map of the Sphere that JARVIS searched on the HUD. The search came up empty, making Tony raise a lip in irritation at the warning flash of apparently bad search parameters. How could Bruce not be on the Sphere, wouldn't Tony have heard about that? This stupid thing wasn't filtering properly again; maybe Lady was causing interference. Bruce was almost definitely in his lab. They may have all migrated to a different planet, but some people were really stuck in their habits.
Or not. By the time Iron Man made it down to the university labs, his search was still inconclusive and he was left idling by a map-- MICROBIOLOGY, PATHOLOGY, QUANTUM OPTOELECTRONICS... "Hey, excuse me-- Hi there, hi," Iron Man caught someone rushing by, who kept their distance looking uneasy about the armor when it didn't seem like they were about to be attacked by something mean and horrible. They just couldn't see Tony's friendly smile. "Dr. Bruce Banner...?" he tried, not sure how much of the question this guy was going to sit through before bolting, but the name did give him a bit of a shudder. That was nice, Bruce was making important connections up here.
"Try Biophysics," the guy suggested before rushing off, not interested in being further roped into that mess.
"Nice guy," Iron Man muttered before turning to the map again to figure out where they kept their biophysicists these days. If Bruce wasn't there, maybe Iron Man would run into someone more chatty.
